These two clubs have been going punch for punch over the past decade of Premier League football with them winning eight of the last nine titles.
During that time, it was Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp battling it out in the dugouts but with both teams now having new managers it has added a huge sense of unpredictability.
Andoni Iraola is now in charge at Anfield with his fellow Spaniard Enzo Maresca in charge of Manchester City.
The pair will aspire to get their teams back to the summit of domestic and European competition.
