The Etihad Stadium Hospitality Dress Code

The dress code for Man City home games at the Etihad Stadium is smart casual, which is great for those in need of an action-packed day. The Etihad Stadium strictly prohibits:

• Tracksuits
• Caps
• Shorts
• Offensive clothing and away tops are strictly prohibited

However, the clothing listed below is acceptable

• Jeans
• Smart, clean trainers
• Home jersey tops

Manchester City, who are currently led by their Spanish Head Coach Pep Guardiola, will be coming face to face with Antonio Conte’s Napoli, who are currently the reigning Italian Champions. These two sides will meet in the heart of Manchester at the Etihad Stadium during the League Phase of the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League. It will also see the return of City club legend Kevin De Bruyne following his summer departure for Italy.

The Cityzens are, of course, one of the favourites to go on and win the competition this season, and they know that a victory against Gli Azzurri (The Blues) would see them take a step closer to doing so, whilst it would also give City a boost as they look to finish in the top eight of the league phase, as they look to automatically qualify for the knockout stages.

When it comes to European pedigree, Manchester City Football Club has plenty, and they have only gotten stronger on the European stage ever since their appointment of current boss Pep Guardiola back in 2016. Before arriving at the club, he had already won the Champions League on two occasions, doing so with FC Barcelona in 2008/09 and 2010/11, beating Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United on both occasions.

Since Pep joined City, they have become European Champions, winning the UEFA Champions League title back in 2023. This came after they were able to beat Italian Giants Inter Milan 1 – 0 thanks to a goal from their Spanish midfield maestro Rodri, who scored against the Nerazzurri (Black and Blues) midway through the first half (68’). It was a game that took place at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in the city of Istanbul in Turkey.

During his time with the club, the Spaniard has also led them to a number of other trophies, including 6 Premier League titles (2017/18, 2018/19, 2020/21, 2021/22/ 2022/23 & 2023/24), 2 FA Cups (2018/19 & 2022/23), 4 Carabao Cup titles (2017/18, 2018/19, 2019/20 & 2020/21), 3 FA Community Shield titles (2018, 2019 & 2024), 1 UEFA Super Cup title (2023), and finally 1 FIFA Club World Cup (2023).

Moving on to Napoli, the Italian Champions are currently led by their Head Coach, Antonio Conte, formerly of Chelsea in the Premier League. As title winners in Italy’s top flight, Serie A, last season, they automatically qualified for this season’s Champions League.

Whilst they have never won this competition, the furthest that Gli Azzurri (The Blues), have got in the Champions League to date is the Quarter Finals, which they did back in the 2022/23 campaign, where they were knocked out by fellow Italian side and 7 time European Champions AC Milan 2 – 1 on aggregate over the two legs.

Manchester City and Napoli last met in the UEFA Champions League back on Wednesday, 1st November 2017, in what was an away game in Group F for City at the iconic and historic Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in the heart of Naples.

It was a competitive and exciting 4 – 2 victory for the away side, thanks to the goals of Nicolas Otamendi (34’), John Stones (48’), club legend Sergio Aguero (69’), and Raheem Sterling (90+2’). Lorenzo Insigne (21’) and Jorginho (62’ – Penalty) were the only two goal scorers for the Italian hosts that night.
