West Ham United, currently led by English Head Coach Graham Potter, will go toe to toe with fierce rivals Tottenham Hotspur, under the stewardship of their Danish boss Thomas Frank. This game will take place at the iconic London Stadium, located in the heart of East London in the English Capital, during the 2025/26 Premier League season.
If the Hammers go on to emerge victorious against their North London counterparts, it would bring with it bragging rights and be a statement victory for the team. A win would also take Potter’s side a significant step closer to realising their ambitions, which are to secure a top half spot whilst also potentially pushing for European Qualification this season.
Graham Potter is the current Head Coach of West Ham United Football Club, and the former Swansea City, Brighton, and Chelsea boss has been in charge of the Hammers ever since he officially succeeded Julen Lopetegui at the club back on Thursday 9th January 2025.
The first few months of Potter’s stewardship saw him guide them well away from the relegation battle, with the Hammers able to accumulate a total of 43 points from their 38 top flight league matches to secure themselves what was a very respectable 14th place finish. The 2025/26 campaign will indeed be Graham Potter’s first full season in charge.
They did manage to end last season (2024/25) on a high after they were able to secure a comfortable and thoroughly deserved 3 – 1 win against Ipswich Town away from home on the final day. The game took place at Portman Road, and the visitors were able to score their goals through the likes of James Ward-Prowse (43’), Jarrod Bowen (55’), and Mohammed Kudus (87’). The Tractor Boys scored their only goal against the Hammers early on in the second half thanks to their forward Nathan Broadhead (52’).
Moving on to Spurs, their Danish Head Coach Thomas Frank has been in charge ever since he began his tenure as Lilywhites boss back on Thursday 12th June 2025, which saw him succeed Ange Postecoglou as Tottenham boss.
The 2024/25 campaign was under the stewardship of Postecoglou, with them finishing 17th in the Premier League. They qualified for the highly prestigious UEFA Champions League for the 2025/26 season after beating Manchester United 1–0 in the 2025 UEFA Europa League Final at the San Mames Stadium in Bilbao, Spain. The winning goal was scored on the night by Spurs’ Welsh international forward Brennan Johnson at the end of the first half (42’).
The last time that these two fierce rivals came face to face in a competitive game in all competitions was in the Premier League back on Sunday 4th May 2025, at the London Stadium in what was a 1 – 1 draw in East London. Tottenham took the lead through Wilson Odobert early in the first half (15’), before Jarrod Bowen was able to equalise for the hosts, restoring parity for West Ham a short time after that, with almost half an hour gone in the game (28’).
Overall, West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur have met competitively in all competitions on no fewer than 225 occasions, and it is Tottenham who currently hold the superior record, with as many as 102 victories in this fixture compared to the Hammers’ total of 67 wins so far. There have also been 56 draws between these two teams to date.
