A win here for the Old Gold against their South London counterparts would see them take a step closer to realising their ambitions for this current campaign, which is to finish in the top half, whilst also potentially playing for a place in the top half of the table once this season comes to a close.

Vitor Pereira’s Wolves side are going to be taking on a Crystal Palace team who are currently led by their Austrian Head Coach, Oliver Glasner, at the iconic and historic Molineux Stadium during the 2025/26 Premier League season.
If the Old Gold are indeed able to secure three vital points with a victory against their South London counterparts, then they will be taking a step closer to their ambition for the current season, which is to secure a mid table finish, whilst they could also even push for a spot in the top half of the table by the time that the 2025/26 campaign comes to an end in May 2026.
Vitor Pereira, the club’s Portuguese Head Coach, has been in charge at Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club since his appointment by the Midlands club back on Thursday 19th December 2024. He succeeded Gary O’Neil, who had departed the club a short time before his arrival at Molineux.
During his first few months at the helm, Pereira was tasked with securing his side’s status as a top flight team, whilst also climbing as high up the table as possible. In the end, they were successful in avoiding the drop, with Wolves ending up with a 16th place finish in the Premier League after accumulating as many as 42 points from their 38 games in all. They ended up with a gap of as many as 17 points between themselves and the bottom three overall.
The much anticipated 2025/26 Premier League campaign will be Vitor Pereira’s first full season in charge of Wolves since his appointment towards the end of 2024.
During his spell with Wolves so far, Pereira has led his side to many notable victories, including a memorable 4–2 triumph over their North London counterparts, Spurs, at Molineux on Sunday, 13th April 2025. The goal scorers were the likes of Rayan Ait-Nouri (2’), Jorgen Strand Larsen (64’), and Matheus Cunha (86’), whilst there was also an own goal from Spurs defender Djed Spence at the end of the first half (38’).
The goal scorers for Tottenham in the game on that day were from the likes of forwards Mathys Tel (59’) and Richarlison (85’) in the second half.
Moving on to Crystal Palace, their Austrian Head Coach Oliver Glasner has been in charge of the Eagles ever since he was appointed to replace Roy Hodgson back on Monday 19th February 2024. In his first few months in charge at the back end of the 2023/24 season, he led the South London based club to safety and up to 10th place, with them ending up with a total of 49 points to their name.
Then last season, in what was Oliver Glasner’s first full season in charge of Palace, they were able to finish in 12th with a points total of no less than 53. They also won their maiden major trophy last term, defeating Manchester City in the 2025 FA Cup Final at the historic and iconic Wembley Stadium in London. It was England International Eberechi Eze who was the sole goal scorer for the Eagles in that game, with him finding the back of the net early on in the first half (16’). They have now secured European Football for the much anticipated 2025/26 season.
The last time these two clubs faced off at Molineux in a competitive game was in the Premier League on Saturday, 2nd November 2024, resulting in a 2–2 draw between the two teams overall. Jorgen Strand Larsen (67’) and Joao Gomes (72’) were the goal scorers for the Old Gold, whilst Trevoh Chalobah (60’) and Marc Guehi (77’) were the players who scored the two goals for Palace.
Overall, Wolves and Crystal Palace have met competitively in all competitions on at least 78 occasions, and it is the Old Gold who currently have the superior record, with as many as 30 wins, while the Eagles have 28 victories to their name against their Midlands counterparts to date. There have also been 20 draws between these two teams to date.
