Guards Polo Club was founded in 1955, with the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip appointed as President, though at its inception it took on a different name.
Guards is now the largest Polo Club in Europe by both members and number of grounds. It has approximately 160 playing members, among whom are some of the most talented players in the world. In recent years, the Club has also seen an influx in lady players – highlighting its growing popularity and the rise of women’s across the globe.

Guards is set in the beautiful, natural grounds of Smith Lawn and has very close ties to the Royal Family. Each year, it hosts over 500 polo matches which are played at either Smith’s Lawn or Flemish Farm, the latter providing fantastic views or Windsor Castle.
