Newbury Racing 2020
Since first hosting racing in 1905 Newbury Racecourse has developed into one of the world’s finest venues for flat and jumps racing. Located in Berkshire, Newbury is a truly iconic racecourse, with the stunning setting providing a perfect backdrop to the thrilling action on the track.
Throughout the Autumn and Winter months Newbury welcomes some of the biggest trainers, horses and jockeys from the National Hunt Racing scene, for some of the biggest contests of the season.
In November, Newbury, will host the 64th running of the spectacular Ladbrokes Trophy (formerly the Hennessy Gold Cup). The Grade 3 handicap is one of the biggest races in the calendar and has been won by some of the sports biggest names including Arkle, Denman and Many Clouds (who became the first horse to win the Hennessy Gold Cup and Grand National in the same season during 2014/15).
The grueling race is one of the toughest of the season, run over three-and-a-quarter-miles. The bet365 Festival also features the super Grade Two Long Distance Hurdle which has been won by the legendary Big Bucks (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012) and last year was claimed by Thistlecrack, one of the finest stayers of his generation.
