The Betfred Guineas Festival returns to Newmarket’s famous Rowley Mile from Friday 30th April to Sunday 2nd May 2027, bringing together three days of elite Flat racing and premium hospitality.
The meeting is centred around two of British racing’s five Classics: the Betfred 2000 Guineas on Saturday and the Betfred 1000 Guineas on Sunday.
First run in 1809, the 2000 Guineas is contested by three-year-old colts over one mile. The equivalent race for three-year-old fillies, the 1000 Guineas, followed in 1814. Together they form the first two Classics of the British Flat racing season and have helped establish Newmarket as one of the most important centres of Thoroughbred racing in the world.
