More about the Dubai Future Champions Festival:
The 2024 Dubai Future Champions Festival will once again be held at the world famous and historic Newmarket Racecourse. Charles II became the first and to date only reigning monarch to ride a winner in a race, which was when he won the inaugural Newmarket Town Plate in 1665. This came 29 years after the racecourse was founded all the way back in 1636.
The Dubai Future Champions Festival History began just over a decade ago in 2011, following the launch of the British Champions Series. The most recent champion (2022) was Commissioning, ridden by Rab Havlin.
The main event on the second day is the Group One Dewhurst Stakes. Since 2013, there have been different winners each year: War Command (2013), Belardo (2014), Air Force Blue (2015), Churchill (2016), US Navy Flag (2017), Too Darn Hot (2018), Pinatubo (2019), St Mark’s Basilica (2020), Native Trail (2021) and the most recent winner (2022) was Chaldean, ridden by Frankie Dettori.
