Scotland v Ireland Hospitality Packages – Guinness Six Nations 2027
Gregor Townsend is set to lead hosts Scotland in a much-anticipated game against fierce rivals Ireland, who are led by their Head Coach Andy Farrell, at Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh during the 2027 iteration of the iconic, historic, and highly prestigious Guinness Six Nations.
This eye-catching contest is set to take place during the latest Six Nations, and it will get underway at 20:10 in the heart of the magnificent city of Edinburgh.
The aforementioned Gregor Townsend is, of course, the current Head Coach of the Scottish national rugby side, having taken the reins in May 2017, replacing predecessor Vern Cotter of New Zealand. He had left the Glasgow Warriors to take up this prestigious post.
Not only that, 2027 is going to be a special year, with it officially being Townsend’s 10-year anniversary as Head Coach of Scotland, and he will be looking to guide his side to glory at this year’s Six Nations Championship. His first was back in 2018, when he led them to what was a third-place finish with 13 points, only finishing behind the likes of Wales and that year’s winners, Ireland.
This has since been followed by 5th place (9 Points) in 2019, 4th place (14 Points) in 2020, 4th place (15 Points) in 2021, 4th place (10 Points) in 2022, 3rd place (15 Points) in 2023, 4th place (12 Points) in 2024, and then 4th place again in 2025, ending up with a grand total of 11 points in the end.
Not only that Scotland have won a plethora of Calcutta Cups, having beaten England on a number of occasions, having so far done so under the stewardship of Gregor Townsend in 2018 (25 – 13), 2019 (38 – 38 – retained due to draw), 2021 (6 – 11), 2022 (20 – 17), 2023 (23 – 29), 2024 (30 – 21), and most recently in 2026, beating Steve Borthwick’s England side 31 – 20 at on 14th February 2026.
Over the years, Scotland and its rival, Ireland, have gone head-to-head competitively in all competitions to date. Overall, they have faced each other 143 times, and it is the latter with a superior record of 66 victories, compared with Scotland’s total of 72 so far.
Scotland’s longest run of victories over Ireland took place over 11 games between 18th February 1882 and 18th February 1893. More recently, they did win 10 of their 11 encounters between 4th March 1989 and 20th March 1999, drawing 1.
At Murrayfield, Scotland’s most emphatic victory over Ireland was back on 1st March 1997, winning by a margin of 28 points when they secured what was a ruthless 38 – 10 win in Edinburgh that year.
When it comes to Scotland’s most recent victory against Ireland, this was back on 4th February 2017 at Murrayfield in what was a tight and tense 27 – 22 triumph over their Irish counterparts.
This much-anticipated fixture is set to officially reignite the intense and hard-fought rivalry between these two nations, bringing with it what promises to be an incredible and electric atmosphere for this iconic fixture in the 2027 iteration of the Guinness Six Nations Championship for Gregor Townsend’s Scotland at Murrayfield in Edinburgh against Andy Farrell’s Ireland.
