England v France Six Nations Rivalry and Recent Form

Steve Borthwick has been England Head Coach since December 2022 and has led the national side through four editions of the Guinness Men’s Six Nations. England finished runners-up to France in 2025 before enduring a more difficult 2026 Championship, finishing fifth.

Meetings between England and France have produced some of the Six Nations’ most memorable recent contests. At Allianz Stadium, Twickenham in 2025, England secured a dramatic 26–25 victory, with Elliot Daly scoring a late try before Fin Smith converted to complete the comeback.

France responded in Paris in 2026 with an extraordinary 48–46 victory, securing a second consecutive Six Nations title in a match that underlined the intensity of this long-standing international rivalry.

England have historically held the stronger overall record against France, but recent meetings have been particularly competitive, with both nations recording significant victories against each other.

Their 2027 meeting now brings the rivalry back to Allianz Stadium, Twickenham, where England will look to repeat their 2025 home victory against the reigning Six Nations champions.
