England v Scotland – Calcutta Cup Rivalry and Recent Form

England and Scotland will renew one of international rugby’s oldest rivalries at Allianz Stadium, Twickenham on Saturday 13th March 2027, with the two nations once again competing for the Calcutta Cup in the Guinness Men’s Six Nations.

England are led by Steve Borthwick, who has been Head Coach since December 2022, while Scotland remain under the leadership of Gregor Townsend.

Recent meetings have underlined just how competitive this fixture has become. England ended a run of four consecutive Scotland victories in the Championship with a narrow 16–15 win at Twickenham in 2025.

Scotland responded in the latest meeting between the teams, defeating England 31–20 at Scottish Gas Murrayfield in 2026 to retain the Calcutta Cup.

That result adds further significance to the 2027 meeting, with England looking to regain the trophy on home soil and Scotland aiming to continue their strong recent record in the fixture.

Taking place on the final weekend of the Championship, England v Scotland Six Nations 2027 promises to be one of Super Saturday’s major occasions.
