Mikel Arteta and his Arsenal side are going to come face to face with a Scott Parker-led Burnley side, who are one of the three newly promoted clubs this season alongside Leeds United and Sunderland. The Gunners will be taking on the Clarets in the 2025/26 Premier League season, and Arsenal will be looking to dethrone reigning Champions Liverpool and win the title, whilst Burnley will be looking to secure survival this season.

A win against Parker’s Burnley would give the Gunners’ chances of securing the title for themselves for the 14th time in their history a big boost and it could prove crucial in the race for glory with the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool, and Chelsea also all set to bid for glory this term.

Following the departure of his predecessor Unai Emery and the interim spell of Freddie Ljungberg, it was of course current Head Coach Mikel Arteta who took permanent charge back in October 2019. Fast forward to the 2022/23 season, and it was the Gunners who were amongst those challenging for that season’s Premier League title, only to miss out to champions Manchester City by a margin of just 5 points in the end in second place overall.

Then in the 2023/24 Premier League season, Arsenal was even better, gaining 89 points compared to 84 the season before. But they did again have to settle for a second place finish in the end. It was then another second place finish, a third in a row last season in 2024/25 where they finished behind Liverpool on a total of 74 points from their 38 matches overall.

As for Burnley, they are a newly promoted outfit who are led by former Fulham and Bournemouth Head Coach Scott Parker, who was appointed by the Clarets as the successor to Vincent Kompany at Turf Moor back on 5th July 2024, ahead of the start of the 2024/25 EFL Championship season.

He led the club to automatic promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking last term, in what was also his first full season in charge, finishing up in 2nd place with 100 points, missing out on the title on goal difference alone to Leeds United. Burnley did though only lose twice in 46 matches last term, the least of anyone else in the division, with Leeds being the next best in the English Second tier with 4 overall.

Overall over the years, Arsenal and Burnley have met face to face in a competitive fixture in all competitions on a total of 115 times in all competitions, and it is the Gunners who have the superior record of 57 victories compared with the total of 34 for the Clarets so far. There have also been 24 games that have been drawn between these two teams.

The match between Arsenal and newly promoted Burnley is set to be intriguing and enthralling in North London, with both clubs looking to boost their chances of realising their respective ambitions for the 2025/26 Premier League season.
