Andoni Iraola’s Bournemouth are going to come face to face with a Manchester City side who are currently under the stewardship of fellow Spaniard Pep Guardiola. These two sides will face each other at the historic Vitality Stadium on the South Coast during the 2025/26 Premier League season, on the afternoon of Sunday, 17th May 2026. It would be a statement victory for the Cherries, and the three points would indeed take them a step closer to realising their ambitions for the current campaign, which are to secure European Football for next season.

The Vitality Stadium Hospitality Dress Code
For hospitality at Bournemouth’s Vitality Stadium, the dress code is generally smart casual. That usually means:
-
Men: Collared shirts, smart trousers or chinos, optional blazer; avoid sportswear, ripped jeans, or trainers.
-
Women: Dresses, skirts, smart trousers or blouses; again, avoid casual sportswear.
-
General: No football jerseys, hoodies, or caps.
Hospitality areas aim for a polished but relaxed environment—so you don’t need a suit unless you want to go extra formal.
Bournemouth, who are currently led by their Spanish Head Coach Andoni Iraola, are going to be taking on Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side on the South Coast at the iconic and historic Vitality Stadium, with the game set to take place on Sunday, 17th May 2026. It will be played as the club’s final home game of the 2025/26 Premier League season.
If Iraola’s side can get the win, it would be a statement result. Not only that, it would take them a step closer to realising their ambitions for the current campaign, which are to secure European Football for first time in their history, which they can do with a top seven finish in the English Top Flight this term.
The current Head Coach of AFC Bournemouth is, of course, the aforementioned Andoni Iraola. The Spaniard has been in charge of the Cherries ever since his appointment by the South Coast based club was officially confirmed back on Monday, 19th June 2023. He replaced his predecessor, Gary O’Neil, in the dugout at the Vitality Stadium. The 2025/26 season is going to be his third full campaign in charge.
The 2023/24 Premier League campaign was his first full season in charge of the club. It was a tremendous season for the Cherries, who made history after they had managed to earn a grand total of no less than 48 points from their 38 games overall, which was enough to see them finish in 12th place overall. This was the most points that they had ever accumulated in the top flight of English Football.
Further history was then made the following season (2024/25), with Iraola’s side going on to finish even higher in the table up in 9th place which saw them only miss out on the top seven and subsequently European Football by a margin of just 9 points in the end. They had earned 56 points, which was indeed another new record points total at this level for the club, and all eyes will be on Bournemouth this term as they look to earn even more points and end up with a top-seven finish in the league table.
The Cherries secured some outstanding results last season, one of which was against title contenders Arsenal away from home at the Emirates Stadium in a game that took place towards the end of their 2024/25 campaign on Saturday, 3rd May 2025.
It was a 2 – 1 victory in North London for the Cherries, who were able to score their goals in this game thanks to the likes of Dean Huijsen (67’) and Evanilson (75’), with both of these goals coming in the second half. They had initially fell behind when the hosts Arsenal took the lead near the end of the first half through England international Declan Rice (34’).
Moving on to Manchester City, their Spanish Head Coach Pep Guardiola was announced as Manuel Pellegrini’s successor at the Etihad Stadium back on Monday, 1st February 2016, with Pellegrini taking charge for the rest of that campaign before Pep officially took charge ahead of the 2016/17 season.
He has won no less than 18 trophies since joining the Cityzens, which includes 6 Premier League titles, 2 FA Cups, and 4 Carabao Cup titles, and 1 UEFA Champions League crown, which came back in the 2023 Final against Italian Giants Inter Milan in Istanbul, Turkey. The winning goal in a 1 – 0 victory for City came from their Spanish midfield maestro Rodri midway through the second half (68’).
The last time that Bournemouth were able to beat Manchester City in a competitive game in the Premier League was back when City were the reigning Champions back on Saturday 2nd November 2024 at the Vitality Stadium near the start of the 2024/25 Premier League campaign. It was a historic 2 – 1 victory for the hosts in the end, with the Cherries scoring their goals through the likes of Antoine Semenyo (9’) and Evanilson (64’), whilst the only goal scored by the visitors in this game came from City’s Croatian international defender Josko Gvardiol towards the end of this game in the latter stages of the second half (82’).
Overall, Bournemouth and Manchester City have met competitively in all competitions on no less than 24 occasions, and it is City with the most wins in this particular fixture with as many as 21, whilst their South Coast rivals have just 1 win to date against the Cityzens. There have been just 2 draws between these two teams to date, as of the time of writing.
