Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea are going to be welcoming a Brighton side led by their German Head Coach Fabian Hürzeler to the iconic and historic Stamford Bridge in the heart of West London during the 2025/26 Premier League season.
A victory for the Blues against the Seagulls would see Chelsea take an important step closer to realising their objective for the current campaign, which is to qualify for the highly prestigious UEFA Champions League for the second consecutive season.
The current Head Coach of Chelsea Football Club is of course Enzo Maresca, who has been in charge ever since he officially took charge when he succeeded Mauricio Pochettino at the club back on 1st July 2024, a few months before the start of the 2024/25 season.
Last season was his first full campaign in charge, with the Italian leading the Blues in what turned out to be a very successful campaign for the West London Club. In the Premier League, Maresca’s team was able to finish as high as 4th place in the English Top Flight after earning a grand total of no less than 69 points after having played all 38 of their games in the league. This sealed UEFA Champions League Football for the 2025/26 season.
Meanwhile, Chelsea was also very successful in Europe last term, making it to the 2025 UEFA Conference League Final, where they faced Spanish side Real Betis of La Liga at the Wrocław Stadium in Wrocław, Poland.
It was an emphatic and a well deserved 4 – 1 victory for the Blues in the end thanks to the goals from the likes of Enzo Fernandez (65’), Nicolas Jackson (70’), Jadon Sancho (83’), and finally Moises Caicedo in second half stoppage time (90+1’). It was Betis who did actually take the initial lead within the first ten minutes of this contest thanks to a goal from their Moroccan international forward Abde Ezzalzouli (9’).
Moving on to Brighton, their German Head Coach Fabian Hürzeler has been in charge of the Seagulls since his appointment by the South Coast Club back on 15th June 2024, when he succeeded Roberto De Zerbi who had departed for French Ligue 1 Club Marseille a short time before that.
The 2024/25 season was the first full campaign in charge for Hürzeler, who was able to lead his new club to what was a very respectable 8th place finish after they had managed to earn a grand total of no less than 61 points from their 38 matches in all, with them only missing out on European Football by a margin of just 4 points in the end with them ending up just outside of the top seven.
Overall, Chelsea and Brighton have met competitively in all competitions on no less than 26 occasions, and it is the Blues who do have the superior total of 16 wins in this fixture overall to date, whilst the Seagulls have 5 victories to their name against their West London counterparts. There have been 5 draws between these two clubs so far, as of the time of writing.
