A Marco Silva-led Fulham is set to take on a newly promoted Burnley, led by their English Head Coach Scott Parker, at the iconic and historic Craven Cottage in the heart of West London during the 2025/26 Premier League season. This match will see the Cottagers look to increase their chances of reaching their goal of achieving European Football in the top flight this season with all three points from this game.
Fulham continue to have European ambitions, and they are looking to take the next step after missing out last season. They aim to secure a first season in Europe for a considerable amount of time, with their most recent European journey dating back to the 2011/12 season, when they competed in the highly prestigious UEFA Europa League.
In order to reach the group stages for that season’s competition, they had to first navigate their way past a number of teams from around Europe in four qualifying rounds. They were able to secure their crucial victories against the likes of NSI Runavik (Faroe Islands, 3 – 0 agg.), Crusaders (Northern Ireland, 7 – 1 agg.), RNK Split (Croatia, 2 – 0 agg.), and finally Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk (Ukraine, 3 – 1 agg).
Then in the group stages themselves in that season’s Europa League, they were unable to advance any further in the competition after only finishing in third place in their group, even after beating the likes of Denmark’s Odense and Polish outfit Wisla Krakow, both of whom beaten 2 – 0 and 4 – 1 respectively.
Marco Silva’s very first full season in charge of Fulham was back in the 2021/22 EFL Championship. They had an excellent campaign in the second tier, winning the league title with a grand total of no less than 90 points, and with a two point gap between themselves and runners-up AFC Bournemouth in second place. The Cottagers scored 106 goals, and since this promotion, they have been in the Premier League ever since.
The most recent full season under Silva’s stewardship was the 2024/25 campaign, and it was an excellent one for the Cottagers. They ended up finishing in a respectable 11th place after earning a total of 54 points from their 38 games in the English top flight overall, while missing out on the top seven and European Football by a margin of 11 points. They had been in the hunt for a top seven finish and European Football for most of the season, and they will be looking to go one better this time around.
Moving on to Burnley, they are currently under the stewardship of their English Head Coach Scott Parker, who has been at the club ever since he succeeded Vincent Kompany at the Turf Moor club back on 5th July 2024. And, in his first full season in charge of the Clarets, he managed to guide the club to an immediate return to the Premier League via automatic promotion from the Championship after finishing as runners-up in second place with a grand total of no less than 100 points to their name after 46 games. They only missed out on the title on goal difference to Leeds United.
The last time that these two clubs faced each other competitively in all competitions was in the Premier League back on 3rd February 2024 at Turf Moor. It was a 2 – 2 stalemate, with David Datro Fofana scoring for the hosts, Burnley (71’, 90+1’), scoring for the Clarets and Joao Palhinha (18’) and Rodrigo Muniz (21’) scoring for Fulham in this draw in Lancashire.
Overall, Fulham and Burnley have met competitively in all competitions on a total of no less than 101 occasions, and it is the Clarets who have the superior record of 49 victories in this fixture, whilst the Cottagers have 31 wins to their name against Burnley so far as of the time of writing. There have also been a total of 21 draws between these two teams over the years to date.
