The 2023/24 season was Ange Postecoglou’s first in charge of the Lilywhites since he was appointed by Tottenham on 6th June 2023, shortly after the end of the previous campaign. This campaign was also notable for earning points at the Emirates Stadium for the first time in four years, and a first victory against Liverpool in five years. In the end, Tottenham secured qualification for the 2024/25 UEFA Europa League after finishing in 5th place – accumulating a total of 66 points across their 38 games.

Moving on to Arsenal, Mikel Arteta was appointed as Gunners Boss all the way back in December 2019, ending his first half season in charge in 5th place before an 8th place finish followed in the 2020/21 season. In the last two seasons, they have finished as runners-up to Manchester City in both 2022/23 and 2023/24. They have also won the FA Community Shield twice and the FA Cup in his reign to date.

Arsenal were 2 – 0 up in half an hour thanks to goals from Samir Nasri (9’) and Marouane Chamakh (27’). The comeback was completed following goals from Gareth Bale (50’), Rafael van der Vaart (67’ – Penalty), and Younes Kaboul (85’). This was a historic win for Spurs – their first win away at Arsenal for 17 years.

Spurs and Arsenal have met in a competitive fixture on a total of 209 times over the years. It is the Gunners with the most wins with 87 compared to Tottenham’s total of 67 as of the time of writing. There have been 55 draws in total between them so far.
