Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs are set to welcome a newly promoted Leeds United side who are currently led by their German Head Coach Daniel Farke to the iconic Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the heart of North London during the 2025/26 Premier League season. With the Lilywhites targeting qualification for European Football again this season, a victory here would give their chances of doing so a boost.

All of the games that Tottenham play in the league this season will be crucial, and this match against Leeds will be no different. With the hosts perusing another important three points, the atmosphere for this contest promises to be electric with a crowd behind the team looking for the win. Ange Postecoglou has been in charge ever since he was appointed all the way back on 6th June 2023, with the 2025/26 campaign set the be the Australian Head Coach’s third full season in charge of the Lilywhites. The all important winning goal from Tottenham’s Welsh forward Brennan Johnson, who found the back of the net against the Red Devils in the latter stages of the first half (42’).

The road to the final win for the North London club of course began in the League Phase, where they were able to go ahead and win a number of games, amongst those being wins against the likes of Hungary’s Ferencvaros (2 – 1), the Netherlands’ AZ Alkmaar (1 – 0), and Germany’s Hoffenheim as well, beating them 3 – 2 away from home.

Then came the Round of 16, where Spurs had to come face to face with the aforementioned Dutch club AZ Alkmaar, this time over two legs in what was also a knockout tie. In the end, it was of course Tottenham who were able to find their way through and into the Quarter Finals after being able to beat their Eredivisie counterparts 3 – 2 on aggregate in the end.

In the Quarter Finals, it was German Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt who were drawn to be Tottenham’s opponents at this stage of the competition. In the first leg, it was to be a 1 – 1 stalemate at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with this game in North London setting up the second leg nicely following this draw.

The second leg away from home at the Deutsche Bank Park in Frankfurt saw a successfully dispatched spot kick from Spurs striker Dominic Solanke take Spurs into the last four, with this semi final place secured thanks to a 2 – 1 win overall on aggregate.

Then came the Semi-Finals where Tottenham went head to head with Norway’s Bodø/Glimt. In the first leg in the English Capital, Spurs were able to come away with a comfortable and deserved 3 – 1 victory at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium before going on to win 2 – 0 against their Norwegian counterparts at the Aspmyra Stadion away from home in the second leg.

This sealed their spot in the Final with an emphatic 5 – 1 victory which was then followed by Spurs’ victory in the Final against Manchester United in the Final. This also secured them a place in the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League.

Moving on to Leeds United, their German Head Coach Daniel Farke has been in charge ever since he succeeded Sam Allardyce at the club back on 4th July 2023 following their relegation from the Premier League.

In his first season with the club, Farke guided them to what was a 3rd place finish with 90 points but only missed out on promotion back to the top table of English Football courtesy of a 1 – 0 defeat in the EFL Championship Play-Off Final against Southampton at Wembley Stadium.

Then last season (2024/25), Daniel Farke’s Leeds United side went on to with the EFL Championship title on goal difference ahead of Burnley, with them and the Clarets both earning no less than 100 points from the 46 games that were played by both of these clubs.

The last time that Tottenham Hotspur and Leeds United came face to face in a competitive fixture was back on 28th May 2023 at Elland Road on what was the final day of that Premier League season. It was an emphatic 4 – 1 triumph for Spurs in the end, who scored their goals through Harry Kane (2’, 69’), Pedro Porro (47’), and Lucas Moura (90’). It was Jack Harrison who scored the only goal for the hosts Leeds United that day.

Overall, these two clubs have gone head to head competitively on a grand total of 103 times in all competitions, and it is Tottenham who has the superior record of 41 wins compared with Leeds’ total of 33 to date as of the time of writing.
