The Cesarewitch Stakes is one leading staying handicaps of the flat season, taking place in September, and on Cesarewitch Trial Day, the leading contenders lay down their credentials on the Rowley Mile Course at Newmarket Racecourse. The day consists of seven exciting races, as all runners look to prove their strength in this fabulous day of racing.

The most successful horse in this event is Aaim to Prosper, who has won it twice (2010 & 2012), with Doug Smith being the most successful jockey to ever participate in the Cesarewitch Trial Day. Smith won it on no less than 6 occasions: Canatrice (1939), French Design (1954), Sandiacre (1957), Come to Daddy (1959), Alcove (1960) & Persian Lancer (1966).

Beylerbeyi, who won the 2025 event, is the most recent winner of the Cesarewitch Trial Day. The horse was ridden by Billy Loughnane.
