More About The Final Meeting:
The Final Meeting at the historic Newmarket Racecourse is the end of season finale, and it is widely known as the ‘End of Term’.
The Final Meeting will be taking place at the timeless Newmarket Racecourse. Founded in 1636, the Newmarket Racecourse is one of the oldest Horse Racing venues not only in the country, but also in the world. It also has a particularly unique moment in history attached to it as well – it is the racecourse where King Charles II won the inaugural Newmarket Town Plate in 1665. In doing so, he became the first and currently the only reigning monarch in history to have ridden a winner to date.
Over the course of two days, there will be a plethora of races taking place. There were a range of winners last year and there is sure to be more history to be made in 2024.
On the first day alone, there are 8 races. They are: The British EBF Conditions Stakes, The British EBF Novice Stakes Div I, The British EBF Novice Stakes Div II, The Irish Stallion Farms EBF ‘Bosra Sham’ Fillies’ Stakes, The Newmarket Beacon Thanks Mark Kirby Handicap Stakes, The Hamish Kinmond 70th Birthday Handicap Stakes, The racingtv.com/freetrial Handicap Stakes and The Watch Racing TV Free for 31 Days Handicap Stakes.
The 2022 British EBF Conditions Stakes saw Ehraz beat stern competition from Tiriac and Spirit Of Breeze in second and third respectively. As for the latest Irish Stallion Farms EBF ‘Bosra Sham’ Fillies’ Stakes, Matilda Picotte won, whilst Queen Olly and Believing came in the other two spots in the top three.
