Punchestown Festival Saturday is the ultimate wrap party for the Irish jump racing season. Festival-goers of all ages travel from every corner of Ireland and beyond to celebrate the achievements of Irish jump racing. The racing fans of tomorrow are entertained in the Junior Jockey Club Fun Zone whilst the season champions are crowned in the winners’ enclosure.
Notable races on the final day of the Punchestown Festival include Champion Four Year Old Hurdle and Mares Champion Hurdle. The Four Year Old Hurdle usually sees runners who have previously competed in the Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham. The last time a horse went on to win both races in the same year was Katarino back in 1999. Willie Mullins stands as the trainer with the most wins for the race, having had eight winners over the years.
