Arsenal maintained their perfect start to the Premier League season with a 2-1 comeback win against Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Chelsea Strike Inside Two Minutes

Chelsea made an immediate impact at the Emirates by taking the lead inside the opening two minutes. Arsenal failed to properly clear a free-kick and Jorrel Hato helped keep the attack alive before the ball reached Rogers outside the penalty area, with the midfielder striking first time past David Raya.

Estevao Willian had one of Chelsea’s best late opportunities when his effort forced Raya into a save. The Arsenal goalkeeper tipped the shot over the crossbar and the home side then saw out the remaining minutes to secure the victory.

Arteta praised Arsenal’s performance after seeing his side recover from the early setback. The Gunners had fallen behind before the game had settled, but responded with two goals and controlled significant periods of the contest.

“I think it was an exceptional performance. I enjoyed every minute of it from the beginning to the end,” Arteta said after the match.

Alonso Reflects on Chelsea Defeat

Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso was disappointed to leave the Emirates without a point after his side had taken such an early lead. The visitors caused Arsenal problems at different stages of the game but were unable to add to Rogers’ opening goal.

“It’s a defeat and we are disappointed; it needs to hurt, but it needs to hurt in a positive way,” Alonso said after the final whistle.

Chelsea’s best opportunities after Arsenal went ahead came through their attacking players as they committed more bodies forward. Neto had already hit the post in the first half, while Estevao was denied by Raya late in the match.
