Colts and Commanders Win as Jaguars Impress Ahead of NFL London 2026

The countdown to the 2026 NFL London Games is almost over, with the Indianapolis Colts and Washington Commanders set to open this year’s three-game series at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday 4th October.

Both sides will travel to London after securing their first victories of the season in Week 3, while the Jacksonville Jaguars also recorded an emphatic win ahead of their two games in the capital. The Houston Texans remain without a victory, while the Philadelphia Eagles will complete their Week 3 schedule against the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football.

Colts edge Texans ahead of London trip

Indianapolis secured a timely first victory of the campaign with a dramatic 19-17 win against fellow London-bound side Houston at the Lucas Oil Stadium.

The Colts led 13-7 at half-time before Houston fought back during the fourth quarter. Woody Marks’ late touchdown put the Texans 17-16 ahead, but Indianapolis kicker Spencer Shrader responded by converting a 53-yard field goal with 16 seconds remaining to secure the win.. Shrader made all four of his field-goal attempts despite dealing with a groin issue during the build-up to the game.

Quarterback Daniel Jones completed 24 of his 36 passes for 235 yards and a touchdown, with Keenan Allen catching six passes for 63 yards and Indianapolis’ only offensive touchdown.

There was also a significant improvement from the Colts defence. After conceding 1,209 yards and 74 points across their opening two matches, Indianapolis restricted Houston to 223 total yards as they improved to 1-2.

For the Texans, the narrow defeat leaves them 0-3 ahead of their eventual trip to Wembley Stadium, where they will face the Jaguars on Sunday 18th October. C.J. Stroud threw for 167 yards and a touchdown against Indianapolis, while Houston’s defence forced three turnovers but could not prevent the Colts from producing the decisive final drive.

Commanders defeat defending champions in Washington

The Colts will face a Washington side also travelling to London on the back of its first victory of the season.

Washington beat defending Super Bowl champions the Seattle Seahawks 33-31 at the Northwest Stadium, recovering from defeats against Philadelphia and Dallas to improve to 1-2.

Marcus Mariota started at quarterback in the absence of the injured Jayden Daniels and completed 19 of 31 passes for 183 yards, throwing three touchdowns without an interception. Terry McLaurin recorded six catches for 77 yards and a touchdown as Washington built a 24-10 lead during the third quarter.

The Commanders defence played an important part in the result by forcing three Seattle turnovers. Kain Medrano produced the biggest defensive play of the afternoon when he intercepted Sam Darnold and returned the ball 50 yards for a touchdown with just over four minutes remaining.

Seattle closed the gap to two points late on, but Washington held on for a result that gives the Commanders their first win before travelling across the Atlantic.

Daniels missed Sunday’s game after suffering a dislocated elbow against Dallas in Week 2. The Commanders quarterback is now reportedly unlikely to feature against Indianapolis in London, which could see Mariota retain his starting role following his impressive performance against Seattle.

Jaguars hit 35 in dominant Patriots win

Jacksonville produced the most convincing Week 3 performance among the teams heading to London, beating the New England Patriots 35-6 at EverBank Stadium.

Trevor Lawrence threw three touchdown passes, completing 19 of 29 attempts for 182 yards, as the Jaguars responded to their Week 2 defeat against the Denver Broncos. Jacksonville are now 2-1 after also beating Cleveland 34-10 on the opening weekend.

The Jaguars also rushed for 137 yards and two touchdowns, while their defence forced three turnovers. Travis Hunter recorded his first NFL interception by picking off Drake Maye in the end zone shortly before half-time, helping Jacksonville establish a 14-3 advantage.

Jacksonville converted eight of their 12 third downs and scored touchdowns on all five of their trips inside the New England 20-yard line.

It was an encouraging performance ahead of a particularly important part of their schedule. After travelling to face Cincinnati in Week 4, Jacksonville will head to London for consecutive games against the Eagles at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and the Texans at Wembley Stadium.

Eagles take unbeaten record into Monday Night Football

Philadelphia are the only London-bound team yet to complete their Week 3 fixture, with the Eagles travelling to Soldier Field to face the Chicago Bears on Monday night.

Nick Sirianni’s side have started the campaign 2-0 following a 24-22 victory against Washington and a 24-20 win away at Tennessee. Jalen Hurts helped lead a fourth-quarter comeback against the Titans in Week 2, with DeVonta Smith recording 10 receptions for 117 yards.

The Eagles will play Chicago before returning home to face the Los Angeles Rams in Week 4. Their following fixture will then see them travel to London to face Jacksonville on Sunday 11th October.
