Then, in the 2025 Six Nations, Farrell’s Ireland side would end up with what was a 3rd place finish with 20 points, finishing behind England and the winners that year, France. 2026 saw Ireland as one of the favourites to win the Championship once again.
Overall, Ireland and England have met competitively on a number of occasions in all competitions – 144 times to be exact. It is England with a more favourable record of 81 victories to Ireland’s total of 55 to date. However, Ireland has been dominant in recent times, winning all five of its previous encounters against its rivals in the Six Nations.
