Italy v Ireland – 2027 Six Nations
Stadio Olimpico, Rome
Saturday 13th February 2027 – 14:10
Rome will host another major Guinness Six Nations fixture in 2027 when Italy face Ireland at the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday 13th February, with kick-off scheduled for 14:10 GMT.
Ireland have traditionally held the stronger record in this fixture, but recent meetings have become increasingly competitive. Ireland won 22–17 in Rome in 2025 before edging Italy 20–13 in Dublin in 2026, while Italy’s most recent victory over Ireland came with a 22–15 win in Rome in 2013.
Under Gonzalo Quesada, Italy have continued to develop into a more competitive Six Nations side, particularly in front of their home support. Ireland, led by Andy Farrell, remain one of the Championship’s leading teams and will arrive in Rome knowing that recent meetings have been far closer than some earlier encounters.
With both nations looking to build momentum early in the 2027 Championship, Italy v Ireland promises to be one of the standout fixtures of the second round.
