Arsenal, led by their Spanish Head Coach Mikel Arteta are set to take on Brentford side who are led by Head Coach Thomas Frank, with the two clubs set to meet once more at the Emirates Stadium during the 2025/26 Premier League season. The Gunners will be looking for all three points as they look to secure the title this term by dethroning reigning top flight Champions Liverpool.
In the 2025/26 season, Arsenal will be looking to become the Champions of England for the 14th time in their history, and if they were to achieve this tremendous feat, it would also be the 4th time in their illustrious history that they have won the Premier League title after having done so back in 1997/98, 2001/02, and in 2003/04, when they of course won the title as the famous invincibles under the stewardship of legendary boss and club legend Arsene Wenger.
It was back in December 2019 that Mikel Arteta officially took charge as Head Coach of the Gunners, succeeding Unai Emery following a short spell in interim charge for Freddie Ljungberg. The Spaniard led them on a title charge in the 2022/23 season, only missing out on first place to Manchester City by 5 points after earning 84 points from their 38 matches.
Then in the season that followed it, the 2023/24 season saw Arsenal finish as runners-up once again, finishing with an even better points total of 89 – this time just 2 behind Manchester City. Then last season a total of 74 points was indeed enough for Arsenal to finish in second place, with Arne Slot’s Liverpool the Champions on this occasion. The Gunners will be looking to dethrone the Reds in the 2025/26 league season.
Getting all three points against Brentford would most certainly help the Gunners’ cause to win the Premier League title once more. A triumph against the Bees would also provide momentum for the North London outfit.
Thomas Frank is currently one of the longest serving managers in the Premier League, having taken charge of Brentford back on 16th October 2018 as the permanent successor to Dean Smith. The 2018/19 season ended in 11th place with 64 points from 46 games in the EFL Championship.
Fast forward to the 2020/21 season, and it saw Frank and Brentford finally secure themselves promotion to the Premier League after beating Swansea City 2 – 0 in the 2021 EFL Championship Play-Off Final.
In their first-ever Premier League season back in 2021/22, the Bees survived relegation comfortably, finishing in 13th place with a total of 46 points with a comfortable margin of 9 points between themselves and the relegation zone.
In the 2022/23 season in the English top flight, Brentford finished in 9th place with 59 points from their 38 games that year, followed by a 16th place finish the season after in the 2023/24 Premier League campaign.
Last season, 2024/25, Thomas Frank’s Brentford settled for what was a 10th place finish after earning 56 points with the Bees having unsuccessfully challenged for some European football for the very first time. The Bees will be looking to challenge for European Football once more in the 2025/26 season.
Over the years, Arsenal and Brentford have met a total of 22 times in all competitions, and it is Arsenal who have the superior record of 10 wins compared with the Bees’ total of 6, whilst there have also been 6 draws between these two London clubs so far, as of the time of writing.
The match between Arsenal and Brentford is set to be an intriguing and enthralling contest, with both clubs looking to boost their chances of realising their respective ambitions for the 2025/26 Premier League season.
