Local bragging rights and three points are at stake when two London rivals, Arsenal and West Ham United, come face to face with the teams led by Mikel Arteta and Graham Potter respectively set to battle for a vital win. This game will be taking place at the iconic Emirates Stadium during the 2025/26 Premier League season.

The game itself promises to be enthralling for all those in attendance, and it will be a great occasion that will have a great atmosphere to boot, with the crowd for this game able to reach more than 60,000. All three points will be going towards Arsenal’s bid for another Premier League title, in what would be their first since 2004’s invincibles.

Mikel Arteta is taking charge of Arsenal for what will be his sixth season in charge of the North London Club, having been appointed to succeed his fellow Spaniard Unai Emery back in October 2019. Arteta took charge following a short interim spell under the control of former Arsenal favourite Freddie Ljungberg, who played for the club from 1998 to 2007.

A grand total of 84 points were earned by Arsenal under the stewardship of Mikel Arteta in the 2022/23 season, which was enough for the Gunners to finish in second place with them only missing out on the title to Manchester City, who were able to finish five points above them in first place in the end.

Then in the 2023/24 season, Arteta’s Arsenal were to end up with a second place finish once more, but this time the gap between themselves and the newly crowned Champions on this occasion was just 2 by the end of that campaign. The Gunners got 89 points in total, just behind the 91 that Champions City got.

In the most recent Premier League season in 2024/25, the Gunners were able to finish in second place for the third season in succession, earning 74 points from their 38 matches in that particular campaign, with only now reigning Champions Liverpool, led by their Dutch Manager Arne Slot having finished above them at the summit of the Premier League table.

Moving on to West Ham United, their current Head Coach Graham Potter, formerly of Chelsea and Brighton, took charge of the club back on 9th January 2025 becoming the successor of Spaniard Julen Lopetegui as Hammers boss. The 2025/26 Premier League season will be his first full campaign in charge of the East London club.

Over the years, Arsenal and West Ham have gone head to head in a competitive fixture in all competitions over the years on a total of 153 occasions, and it is the Gunners who have the superior record of 74 victories compared with the Hammers’ current record of 38 victories overall. There have also been 41 draws to date between these two clubs.
