The Vitality Stadium Hospitality Dress Code
For hospitality at Bournemouth’s Vitality Stadium, the dress code is generally smart casual. That usually means:
-
Men: Collared shirts, smart trousers or chinos, optional blazer; avoid sportswear, ripped jeans, or trainers.
-
Women: Dresses, skirts, smart trousers or blouses; again, avoid casual sportswear.
-
General: No football jerseys, hoodies, or caps.
Hospitality areas aim for a polished but relaxed environment—so you don’t need a suit unless you want to go extra formal.
Andoni Iraola’s Bournemouth is going to be coming face to face with a newly promoted Sunderland side who are currently led by their French Head Coach Regis Le Bris at the iconic Vitality Stadium during the 2025/26 Premier League season. This game is set to go ahead on the South Coast on the afternoon of Saturday 28th February 2026.
If Iraola’s Cherries are able to secure themselves the win and the crucial three points that it would provide, then they would be taking a step closer to realising their ambitions for the current campaign, which are to secure themselves a place in Europe for next season for the first time in this club’s incredible history to date. They can achieve this through the league with a 7th place finish.
The incumbent Head Coach of AFC Bournemouth is, of course, the aforementioned Andoni Iraola, who has been in charge of the Cherries ever since his appointment was confirmed by the club back on Monday 19th June 2023. In doing so, he was replacing his English predecessor, Gary O’Neil, in the dugout at the famous Vitality Stadium. The 2025/26 campaign will be his third full season with the Cherries on the South Coast.
The 2023/24 season was his first in charge, and it was a very positive campaign for his side, who were able to make history for the club itself. In the Premier League, they finished in a very respectable 12th place, having earned a grand total of 48 points from their 38 games in the English Top Flight that term – a new record for them in the Premier League.
Then came his second and most recent full season in charge of the Cherries, where they were able to make some history once again in the top flight. In their 38 games, they were able to accumulate what was a grand total of 56 points a total that sees their record Premier League points total broken again, with them finishing even higher up in the table in 9th place. They had been battling for European Football all season long, only for them to miss out by a margin of just 9 points in the end.
There were a number of excellent, standout results for the Cherries in the Premier League last seasons, perhaps chief amongst which was that famous 2 – 1 victory over Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, who were the reigning Champions of England at the time, at the Vitality Stadium on the South Coast back on Saturday 2nd November 2024. The goal scorers for the hosts Bournemouth that day were the likes of Antoine Semenyo (9’) and their Brazilian striker Evanilson (64’), whilst it was Man City’s Croatian defender who scored to halve the deficit late on in the game in the second half, with the visiting Cityzens outfit unable to mount a comeback in the end in this game. This was to the immense relief of all associated with the club. It was a famous win for the Cherries.
Moving on to Sunderland, they are a newly promoted outfit who are currently led by their French Head Coach Regis Le Bris, who was appointed as their latest boss ahead of the start of last season, with his reign getting started back on Monday 1st July 2024, following confirmation of his appointment by the club a few days earlier on Saturday 22nd June 2024. He replaced his English predecessor Michael Beale in the role as Sunderland Head Coach in the Stadium of Light dugout.
His first full season at the helm saw him guide the Black Cats to what was a very creditable 4th place finish in the EFL Championship table with 76 points to their name after 46 games. This is where they stood once the main part of the season had come to an end in the English Second Tier, but they had of course qualified for the promotion play-offs.
They were drawn against Frank Lampard’s Coventry City in the two legged Semi Final, beating them 3 – 2 on aggregate in the end. This came after winning the first leg 2 – 1 away from home at the Coventry Building Society Arena, before then drawing 1 – 1 at the Stadium of Light in the second leg. It was a dramatic late goal to equalise in this game from Sunderland defender Daniel Ballard that secured them a place in the highly coveted 2025 EFL Championship Play-Off Final at the iconic and historic Wembley Stadium.
In the Final against Sheffield United, Regis Le Bris’ Sunderland were 2 – 1 winners in a victory that was secured by the likes of Eliezer Mayenda (76’) and Tom Watson (90+5’), with the latter scoring a dramatic goal to send Sunderland to the Premier League after what was an 8 year absence from the English top flight. The only scorer for the Blades was Tyrese Campbell, who initially gave them the lead early in the first half (25’).
The last time that Bournemouth came face to face with Sunderland in a competitive game in the Premier League was back on Saturday 29th April 2017 away from home at the Stadium of Light, where the Cherries were able to win 1 – 0 on that occasion thanks to what was a winning goal by ex-Bournemouth forward Josh King in dramatic fashion late on in the second half (88’).
Overall, Bournemouth and Sunderland have met competitively in all competitions on no less than 9 occasions, and it is the Black Cats who do currently have the superior record in this fixture of 5 wins compared with the Cherries’ 2 so far. There have also been as many as 3 draws between these two clubs to date, as of the time of writing.
