Stamford Bridge Hospitality Dress Code
Chelsea FC operates a smart-casual dress code throughout the hospitality areas at Stamford Bridge.
Smart trainers, smart jeans and tailored shorts are permitted, but they do not allow tracksuits, casual shorts, football shirts or away colours.
These rules do not apply to children under 12 years old.
Chelsea Football Club will, if necessary, refuse entry if the dress code is not met.
Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea are set to welcome a newly promoted Sunderland side, who are led by their French Head Coach Regis Le Bris, to the iconic and historic Stamford Bridge in the heart of West London during the 2025/26 Premier League season.
A victory here against the Black Cats for the Blues would see them take what would be a significant step closer to realising their ambitions to qualify for the highly prestigious UEFA Champions League for the second season in succession this term.
The current Head Coach of Chelsea Football Club is, of course, the aforementioned Enzo Maresca, who has been at the club ever since it was confirmed that he would succeed Mauricio Pochettino in the Stamford Bridge hot seat back on 1st July 2024, which was just a few months ahead of the start of the 2024/25 top flight campaign.
The 2024/25 season was, of course, Maresca’s first full campaign in charge of the Blues, with the West London Club enjoying a very successful season on all fronts. Starting with the Premier League, Chelsea secured a very respectable 4th place finish after accumulating a total of 69 points from their 38 games, thereby qualifying for the highly prestigious UEFA Champions League ahead of their 2025/26 campaign.
Meanwhile, in Europe, Chelsea enjoyed great success, with the West London club going on to get all the way to the Final in Poland, where they were able to get the better of La Liga side Real Betis in the 2025 UEFA Conference League Final where they were able to beat the Spanish outfit ruthlessly.
They were able to beat them 4 – 1 thanks to the goals from Enzo Fernandez (65’), Nicolas Jackson (70’), Jadon Sancho (83’), and Moises Caicedo, who found the back of the net early in stoppage time in the second half (90+1’). The opening goal did come the way of Betis in the first ten minutes of the game in the first half, with their Moroccan international forward Abde Ezzalzouli scoring the only goal of the game for his team (9’).
Moving on to Sunderland, their French Head Coach Regis Le Bris has been in charge of the club ever since he took over at the Black Cats back on 22nd June 2024, with him officially beginning his tenure at the club on 1st July 2024, just a few months ahead of the start of last season.
In his first full campaign in charge of the club, he led them to immediate promotion from the EFL Championship to the Premier League, with the team returning to the English Top Flight for the first time in eight years.
They got promoted through the EFL Championship Play-Offs, where they were able to get the better of Sheffield United, who they were able to beat 2 – 1 at the iconic and historic Wembley Stadium thanks to goals from the likes of Eliezer Mayenda (76’) and Tom Watson deep into second half stoppage time (90+5’). Meanwhile, it was Tyrese Campbell who had given the Blades an initial lead over their North East rivals in the first half of this competitive game (25’).
The last time that these two clubs met in a competitive fixture in all competitions was in the Premier League back on Sunday 21st May 2017 at Stamford Bridge, where Chelsea were utterly ruthless 5 – 1 winners thanks to goals from Willian (8’), Eden Hazard (61’), Pedro (77’), and a brace from Michy Batshuayi (90’, 90+2’).
Overall, Chelsea and Sunderland have met competitively in all competitions on no less than 125 occasions, and it is the Blues who have the superior record of no less than 61 victories to their name in this fixture compared with the Black Cats’ 42 wins against their West London counterparts so far. There have also been 22 draws between these two teams so far, as of the time of writing.
