Current Toffees Head Coach David Moyes is set to lead his Everton team into a crucial game against a Crystal Palace side led by their Austrian Head Coach Oliver Glasner. The two sides are set to face each other on Merseyside at Everton’s new home, the Hill Dickinson Stadium, during the 2025/26 Premier League season.
Victory against the Eagles would prove crucial for the Blues as they look to fulfill their ambition for the season, which is to at least finish in a midtable position by the end of the 38th game in May 2026, and they may even have an eye on a top half finish as well this term under Moyes. Momentum will be important, and this can be created with a win against Palace.
This will be the first time that the Toffees will welcome their South London counterparts to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, and this game will be played at a top class stadium with a capacity of no less than 52,769, which makes it one of the biggest stadiums in the league overall. The atmosphere for this game is set to be electric with an entertaining game to boot as well.
The current Everton manager David Moyes will be in his first full season since his return in their 2025/26 campaign, with the Scot having originally been in charge of the Merseyside club for more than a decade between 2002 and 2013, which was when he decided to take the opportunity to succeed the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United.
His first spell at the club had several iconic players for Everton, including the likes of Tim Cahill, Wayne Rooney, David Unsworth, Thomas Gravesen, Tim Howard, Yakubu, Steven Pienaar, and Phil Jagielka, as well as defender Leighton Baines.
Moyes’ return to the club came following spells with United, Real Sociedad, Sunderland, and West Ham United, with confirmation of him officially succeeding Sean Dyche in the Everton dugout coming at the start of this year on 11th January 2025.
In his first half season in charge, he led them well away from any danger of relegation, with them climbing up to 13th place after managing to earn a grand total of no less than 48 points from their 38 matches in all in the end. This also saw them end their most recent top flight campaign (2024/25) sitting no less than 23 points above the relegation zone.
There were several memorable results for Everton in their most recent Premier League season, with some standout wins for the club from Merseyside coming from the likes of Newcastle United (0 – 1), Fulham (1 – 3), Nottingham Forest (0 – 1), Leicester City (4 – 0), Spurs (3 – 2), Wolves (4 – 0), and Crystal Palace (2 – 1).
Moving on to Crystal Palace, their current Head Coach Oliver Glasner has been in charge ever since the Austrian was appointed as Roy Hodgson’s successor at Selhurst Park back on 19th February 2024. After steering the club well away from relegation in his first few months in charge, the 2024/25 campaign was even more successful for him and his team.
Last term, Glasner led the Eagles to their first ever major trophy after beating Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City 1 – 0 in the 2025 FA Cup Final under the arch at the iconic Wembley Stadium thanks to a winning goal in the first half from England international attacking midfielder Eberechi Eze (16’). They also went on to finish 12th in the Premier League table after collecting a total of 53 points to their name after their 38 games had been played.
The most recent competitive encounter between these two clubs took place in the Premier League back on 15th February 2025 in South London at Selhurst Park. It was a tight and tense 2 – 1 victory for Everton that day, with the Toffees scoring their goals through the likes of striker Beto (42’) and attacking midfielder Carlos Alcaraz (80’), whilst it was the talismanic Jean-Phillipe Mateta who scored the only goal of the game for Palace that day (47’).
Overall, Everton and Crystal Palace have met competitively in all competitions on no less than 64 occasions, and it is the Blues who have the superior record in this fixture to date, with the Toffees having recorded no less than 28 victories against Palace, whilst the Eagles, from South London, have 15 wins to their name so far against Everton, as of the time of writing. There have also been 21 draws in total between these two clubs as of now.
