Two London rivals are set to go toe to toe when Marco Silva’s Fulham take on Brentford at the iconic and historic Craven Cottage throughout the 2025/26 Premier League season. This will be a big game for both sides, with the Cottagers knowing that a win would not only take them a step closer to achieving this feat, but also damage the Bees’ chances of European Football.

Fulham, led by their Portuguese Head Coach Marco Silva, will play London rivals Brentford at the iconic and historic Craven Cottage in the heart of West London during the 2025/26 Premier League season. Not only are local bragging rights at stake but so is an advantage in the race for European Football this term.
All associated with Fulham Football Club, including its fans, will think that it is their time to announce their long-awaited return to the European stage ahead of next season, with them having not participated in a European competition since doing so via the UEFA Europa League during the 2011/12 season.
Ahead of reaching the Group Stages, they had to first navigate several qualifying rounds, where they were able to get the better of the likes of NSI Runavik (Faroe Islands, 3 – 0 agg.), Crusaders (Northern Ireland, 7 – 1 agg.), RNK Split (Croatia, 2 – 0 agg.), as well as Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk (Ukraine, 3 – 1 agg).
In the Group Stage itself, they were knocked out in third place, beating Denmark’s Odense 2 – 0 away from home and Poland’s Wisla Krakow at Craven Cottage, who they were able to comfortably and ruthlessly beat them 4 – 1 at Craven Cottage.
Marco Silva has been the Head Coach of Fulham Football Club ever since he was appointed as Scott Parker’s successor at the West London club, beginning his tenure back on 1st July 2021.
In the 2021/22 campaign, his first full campaign in charge, the Portuguese were able to guide Fulham to an immediate promotion back to the Premier League by winning the EFL Championship’s league title after earning a grand total of 90 points from their 46 matches, 2 ahead of runners-up Bournemouth and after scoring an astonishing 106 goals to boot. They have been in the Premier League ever since.
Last season, the 2024/25 campaign, the Cottagers were among the clubs fighting for qualification for European Football for the 2025/26 season. But unfortunately for Fulham, they did go on to miss out on European Football thanks to an 11th place finish with a points total standing at 43 from their 38 games in the English Top Flight as usual. They were 11 points adrift in the end, but they will be hoping to go one better this season and end up with a top-seven finish.
Moving on to Brentford, they were one of the teams that Fulham were competing with for a spot in European Football for the 2025/26 campaign last season under the stewardship of their ex-Head Coach Thomas Frank who has since departed the club for fellow Premier League and London club Tottenham Hotspur.
Last term, the Bees had to settle for what was a 10th place finish just above Fulham with a points total of 56, with them missing out on a place in the top seven themselves, with Brentford missing out by a margin of 9 points in the end, overall.
The last time that these two clubs met competitively in all competitions was in the Premier League at the Gtech Community Stadium back on 18th May 2025 in what was a tight and intense 3 – 2 victory for the Cottagers against the Bees in the end. Brentford were able to score their goals through the likes of Raul Jimenez (16’), Tom Cairney (68’), and Harry Wilson (70’), whilst it was Bryan Mbeumo (22’) and Yoane Wissa (43’) who scored the goals for the hosts that day.
Overall, Fulham and Brentford have gone head to head competitively in all competitions on a grand total of 68 occasions, and both sides have won 25 times against each other, whilst there have been no less than 18 draws to have taken place between these two London clubs so far as of the time of writing.
