Head Coach Marco Silva is set to lead his Fulham side into a local derby match against their North London rivals Spurs, with Thomas Frank in charge of the Lilywhites for this contest. This game will be played in the heart of West London at the iconic and historic Craven Cottage during the 2025/26 Premier League season. Victory would most certainly boost Fulham’s chances of fulfilling their ambition to secure European Football with a top seven finish in the English top flight.
By the end of the campaign, the Cottagers hope that they will have secured their aim of securing a return to the European stage for next season, doing so with a top seven finish in the league. Their most recent European campaign saw them compete in the highly coveted UEFA Europa League back in the 2011/12 season.
Initially, Fulham had to navigate themselves through the qualifying rounds, of which there were four of them before they were even able to make it to the group stages. They were able to secure important victories against the likes of NSI Runavik (Faroe Islands, 3 – 0 agg.), Crusaders (Northern Ireland, 7 – 1 agg.), RNK Split (Croatia, 2 – 0 agg.), and finally Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk (Ukraine, 3 – 1 agg).
The Group Stages then arrived, with Fulham unfortunately being knocked out at this stage of the competition, finishing in 3rd place and thus outside the top two. This came after wins against the likes of Denmark’s Odense and Polish outfit Wisla Krakow at Craven Cottage, beating them both 2 – 0 and 4 – 1 respectively. This was not enough in the end.
For Marco Silva’s first full season in charge of Fulham, you have to go back to the 2021/22 campaign, where the Portuguese Head Coach was able to lead the Cottagers in what was an immensely successful season that saw them achieve automatic promotion by winning the league. They had won the EFL Championship title after amassing an astonishing points total of 90 points, while also scoring a grand total of 106 goals from their 46 matches.
Now fast forward to his most recent full season in charge (2024/25), and it was another positive campaign, this time in the Premier League. The West London outfit was one of the regular challengers for European Qualification, but unfortunately, they failed to finish in the top seven, securing 54 points from their 38 matches to finish 11th place, 11 points behind Nottingham Forest in seventh place overall.
Moving on to Spurs, their current Head Coach Thomas Frank has been in charge ever since it was announced that he would be the successor to Ange Postecoglou at the club back on 12th June 2025 after a very successful spell in charge of fellow London club Brentford, whom he led to a 10th place finish just above Fulham on 56 points, just two above the Cottagers.
Last season for Tottenham was under the stewardship of ex-boss Ange Postecoglou, who despite leading them to a 17th place finish in the Premier League, did nonetheless lead them to a 1 – 0 2025 UEFA Europa League Final at the famous San Mames Stadium in Bilbao, Spain against Manchester United. This did secure them highly coveted UEFA Champions League Football for the 2025/26 season.
The last time that these two clubs met competitively in all competitions was in the Premier League at Craven Cottage back on 16th March 2025, with Fulham beating Spurs comfortably 2 – 0 thanks to the crucial goals from the likes of Rodrigo Muniz (78’) and Ryan Sessegnon late on in the second half (88’).
Overall, Fulham and Spurs have gone head to head competitively in all competitions on a grand total of no less than 107 occasions, and it is Tottenham who has the superior record of no less than 55 victories, whilst Fulham currently have a total of 21 wins for themselves against the Lilywhites so far as of the time of writing. There have also been 31 draws between these two teams to date.
