Marco Silva’s Fulham are set to welcome a Brighton & Hove Albion side led by their German Head Coach Fabian Hürzeler in the heart of West London at the iconic and historic Craven Cottage during the 2025/26 Premier League season. With European Football being targeted by the Cottagers this season, a win here would be big, with Fulham looking to secure themselves a top seven finish this term.
The Cottagers are seeking a return to the European stage this term, and their last appearance in a European competition was in the 2011/12 season, when they participated in that year’s UEFA Europa League. They had to go through no less than four qualifying rounds to even just reach the group stages, which was when they were knocked out of that year’s tournament.
Ahead of the group stages, Fulham were able to beat the likes of NSI Runavik (Faroe Islands, 3 – 0 agg.), Crusaders (Northern Ireland, 7 – 1 agg.), RNK Split (Croatia, 2 – 0 agg.), and finally Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk (Ukraine, 3 – 1 agg).
Then came the group, where it was their 3rd place finish that sealed their fate, with their wins at this stage of the competition coming up against the likes of Denmark’s Odense away from home, as well as Polish outfit Wisla Krakow at Craven Cottage, with these teams both being beaten 2 – 0 and 4 – 1 respectively. Fulham will be determined to secure another European campaign for next season.
The first full season for Fulham under the stewardship of their current Head Coach Marco Silva, it was a successful campaign back in 2021/22, when they were in the second tier of English Football, the EFL Championship. It was a title-winning campaign for Silva’s Fulham, who got 90 points from their 46 games, which, together with scoring 106 goals, meant that they were the dominant force in that division that season.
Fast forward to his most recent full season in charge of Fulham, the West London outfit was fighting for European Football for much of 2024/25, but they were, unfortunately, to miss out by a margin of 11 points in the end after their total of 54 points was enough for 11th place. The Cottagers will look to take that extra step and finish in the top seven by the end of this latest top-flight season.
Moving on to Brighton, they have been under the management of their German Head Coach Fabian Hürzeler, who began his time at the South Coast Club back on 15th June 2024, with his first full campaign in charge being the 2024/25 Premier League season. This saw him lead the Seagulls to an 8th-place finish, with them also being among the many sides fighting for European Football last term, alongside Fulham.
They got 61 points in total in the end, with Brighton and Hove Albion only missing out on a top seven finish and European Qualification by a slender margin of just 5 points overall in the end.
The last time Fulham beat Brighton was in their last encounter at Craven Cottage last year, on 5th December 2024, during the 2024/25 season. It was a comfortable 3 – 1 win for Fulham overall, after scoring their goals through efforts from Alex Iwobi (4’, 87’), who got his brace in this game either side of an own goal from Brighton midfielder Matt O’Riley (79’). Carlos Baleba was the scorer of the only Brighton goal in that game in particular, with him finding the back of the Brighton net early in the second half (56’).
Overall, Fulham and Brighton have gone head to head competitively in all competitions on a grand total of no less than 58 occasions, and it is the Cottagers who currently have the superior record of no less than 27 victories in this fixture compared with the Seagulls on 23 in total so far as of the time of writing. There have been just 8 draws between these two teams so far overall.
