Founded in 1879, Fulham Football Club is the oldest professional football club in London. The Cottagers play their home matches at the iconic Craven Cottage, one of the Premier League’s most distinctive and historic stadiums.

Fulham enjoyed another solid Premier League campaign last season, finishing 11th for the second consecutive year. A final-day victory over Newcastle United left them just one point short of qualifying for European football.

One of the club’s biggest success stories was the emergence of academy graduate Josh King, who established himself as a first-team regular with 38 appearances across all competitions. Experienced striker Raúl Jiménez also played an important role, scoring 10 goals despite turning 35 during the campaign.

The biggest change ahead of the new season has come in the dugout, with former Real Madrid defender Álvaro Arbeloa appointed as Fulham’s new head coach. The Spaniard arrives after impressing within Real Madrid’s academy before guiding the club’s first team, earning a reputation for high-intensity pressing, attacking football and developing young players. A two-time UEFA Champions League winner with Real Madrid and FIFA World Cup winner with Spain during his playing career, Arbeloa now begins his first full managerial role in the Premier League.

Fulham will once again compete in the Premier League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup this season as they look to build on recent progress under their new manager.

The Reds finished 5th in last year’s Premier League, qualifying for the UEFA Champions League under Dutchman Arne Slot.

Slot parted ways with the six-time champions League winners after a disappointing second season in charge.

Liverpool have one of the most exciting strike forces in Europe, with record Premier League signing Alexander Isak set to partner Hugo Ekitike throughout the campaign, supported by the likes of Florian Wirtz and set-piece specialist Dominik Szoboszlai.

The former Premier League champions will be aiming to reclaim the League in the 2026/27 season and also look to add another Champions League trophy to their huge trophy cabinet at Anfield.

Overall, these two clubs have gone head to head in a competitive fixture in all competitions on a total of 81 occasions, and it is the visitors who have the superior record of 46 victories compared with the Cottagers’ record of 14 overall. Liverpool has drawn with Fulham on 14 occasions to date.
