Marco Silva’s Fulham are set to welcome a newly promoted Leeds United side led by their German Head Coach Daniel Farke at the iconic and historic Craven Cottage in the heart of West London during the 2025/26 Premier League season. If the Cottagers successfully pick all three points against Leeds, they would create fresh momentum in their bid to qualify for European Football this season.
Fulham and its fans will be optimistic about a return to Europe, and they will feel it’s time for the club to return to the European stage for what would be the first time since the 2011/12 season when they were competing in that season’s UEFA Europa League. They unfortunately exited at the Group Stage in 3rd place, with wins coming against the likes of Denmark’s Odense 2 – 0 away from home and Poland’s Wisla Krakow, who they were able to beat 4 – 1 at Craven Cottage.
Ahead of that, they had been through a number of qualifying rounds, where they had been able to beat a variety of clubs. They were able to beat NSI Runavik (Faroe Islands, 3 – 0 agg.), Crusaders (Northern Ireland, 7 – 1 agg.), RNK Split (Croatia, 2 – 0 agg.), and finally Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk (Ukraine, 3 – 1 agg).
Marco Silva is of course the current Fulham boss, having taken over from his predecessor Scott Parker back on 1st July 2021, leading them to promotion to the Premier League by the end of the 2021/22 season, winning the league title with a points total of no less than 90, two ahead of runners-up Bournemouth and with an incredible goals tally of 106.
They have been in the Premier League ever since, and fast forward to last season (2024/25), the Cottagers were one of the number of teams fighting for Europe. Unfortunately for Fulham, they were one of the clubs to miss out with the London side ending up having to settle for what was an 11th place finish after accumulating a total of 43 points from their 38 games in the end. They ended up with an 11 point gap between themselves and the top seven.
Moving on to newly promoted Leeds United, they are currently under the stewardship of their German Head Coach Daniel Farke, who has been at the club since his appointment was officially confirmed back on 4th July 2023, succeeding Marcelo Bielsa at the Yorkshire Club.
Initially, he failed to get his new team promoted back to the Premier League, losing the 2023/24 EFL Championship promotion Play-Off Final at the legendary Wembley Stadium after Southampton managed to win 1 – 0 against Leeds thanks to a winning goal in the first half through their forward Adam Armstrong (24’).
Last season, Farke and his team more than made up for this disappointment, with them going on to win the 2024/25 EFL Championship League title after earning 100 points from their 46 games, winning the title and promotion back to the Premier League. They did actually only win the title on goal difference after Scott Parker and Burnley got 100 points as well.
The last time that these two clubs met in a competitive game was in all competitions was in the Premier League back on 22nd April 2023 at Craven Cottage, in what was a 2 – 1 victory for Fulham on this occasion. The hosts were able to score their goals thanks to efforts from the likes of Harry Wilson (58’) and Andreas Pereira (72’) in the second half, whilst Leeds scored their only goal of the game in West London through an own goal from now ex-Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha just after Fulham’s second goal of the game (79’).
Overall, Fulham and Leeds United have gone head to head in a competitive game in all competitions on a grand total of no less than 63 occasions, and it is Leeds who currently have the marginally superior record of 26 victories compared with the Cottagers’ 22 so far, as of the time of writing. There have also been 15 draws between these two clubs to date.
