Hospitality guests are not permitted to wear ripped denim or tracksuits. Please be aware that if you are arriving at The Beautiful Game, there is a smart casual dress code, and trainers, football shirts, and tracksuits are not permitted.

Liverpool and Atletico Madrid, led by Arne Slot and Diego Simeone respectively, are set to meet face to face at Anfield during the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League League Phase, in what is a clash between two of European Football’s biggest clubs. The Reds will be looking to advance to the knockout stages automatically with a top eight finish.

Not only that, the Reds will back themselves to win this season’s competition as one of the best teams in the world, and consequently one of the favourites to go all the way and win the final in 2026. A victory in this game against their Spanish counterparts could prove crucial, as they also look to create momentum for themselves in the latest iteration of European Club Football’s premier cup competition.

As champions of England, Liverpool were one of five clubs from the Premier League to qualify for this season’s competition. The Reds were able to win the league after they had managed to accumulate a grand total of 84 points from their 38 games, which saw them beat runners-up Arsenal to the title by a margin of as many as 10 points, with the Gunners having a total of 74 points to their name in the end.

Liverpool are one of the biggest clubs in Europe, and they have won the Champions League on a grand total of 6 occasions, four of which came when the competition was known as the European Cup. They have won it in 1977 (3 – 1 vs. Borussia Monchengladbach), 1978 (1 – 0 vs. Club Brugge), 1981 (1 – 0 vs. Real Madrid), 1984 (1 – 1, 4 – 2 on penalties vs. Roma), 2005 (3 – 3, 3 – 2 on penalties vs. AC Milan), and most recently back in 2019, where they were able to beat fellow Premier League side Spurs 2 – 0 thanks to the goals of Mohamed Salah (2’ – Penalty), and Divock Origi (87’).

Moving on to Atletico Madrid, they are, as mentioned previously, also one of Europe’s biggest clubs, and they have a strong pedigree in Europe as well, especially in the UEFA Champions League. Whilst they have not yet won this highly prestigious competition, they have made it to the final on more than one occasion, being runners-up in 2014 and in 2016, losing to Real Madrid on both occasions.

The last time that Liverpool and Atletico Madrid met in the UEFA Champions League was back on Wednesday, 3rd November 2021, in a Group Stage contest at Anfield. It was a 2 – 0 victory thanks to the goals of Diogo Jota (13’) and Sadio Mané (21’) in quick succession early in the first half.
