Manchester United, led by their Portuguese Head Coach Ruben Amorim, will take on David Moyes’ Everton side at the iconic and historic Old Trafford, which is located in the heart of the City of Manchester, during the 2025/26 Premier League season.
If United can secure what would be a vital three points against their Merseyside rivals, then they would be able to take what would be a significant step closer to realising their ambitions to secure a return to the European stage, with them aiming to finish in the top seven in the league table once all 38 games have been played.
The current Head Coach of Manchester United Football Club is, of course, Ruben Amorim, and he has been in charge of the Red Devils ever since he began his tenure at the famous old club back on Monday, 11th November 2024, where he was succeeding Erik Ten Hag as United boss. The announcement of Amorim’s appointment had arrived a few weeks previously on Friday, 1st November 2024.
Amorim’s first full season in charge will be the 2025/26 campaign. Having joined midway through last season (2024/25), in the Premier League, his Red Devils side were able to accumulate 42 points from their 38 games in the English Top Flight. This was indeed enough for what was a 15th-place finish in the end, and they did at least end the season on a high, thanks to what was a comfortable and very well-deserved 2 – 0 triumph against Unai Emery’s Aston Villa side at Old Trafford.
Moving on to Everton, their Scottish Head Coach David Moyes has been in charge ever since he took charge of the Toffees for what is his second spell in charge of the Merseyside-based club back on Saturday, 11th January 2025, when he was replacing the recently dismissed Sean Dyche.
In his first few months in charge, he had managed to guide the Toffees from deep relegation trouble to survive the drop very comfortably in the end, with the club finishing in a very respectable 13th place after they had managed to accumulate a total of no less than 48 points from their 38 games.
The 2025/26 season will be David Moyes’ first full season in charge since his spectacular return to Everton Football Club.
The most recent competitive match between these two clubs was played in the Premier League on Saturday, 22nd February 2025, at Goodison Park, resulting in a 2–2 draw. This was their last encounter at the historic and iconic ground. Bruno Fernandes (72’) and Manuel Ugarte (80’) were the goal scorers for the Red Devils, who were, of course, the away side. Meanwhile, it was Beto (19’) and Abdoulaye Doucoure (33’) who were both the goal scorers for the Toffees on that particular day.
Overall, Manchester United and Everton have met competitively in all competitions on at least 215 occasions, and it is United who currently hold the better record in this fixture, with 96 wins, while the Toffees have 71 wins to their name against the Red Devils. There have also been 48 draws between these two teams so far, as of the time of writing.
