Since first opening its gates in 1875, Sandown Park Racecourse has hosted some of the finest horse races in the world and attracted some of the biggest stars in the sport. Located in Esher, it is a truly stunning racecourse, and the picturesque setting provides a perfect backdrop to the thrilling action.

Sandown Park hosts several Grade One contests during the jumps season, including the Tingle Creek Chase and the Tolworth Hurdle.

The Tingle Creek is one of the premier two-mile chases of the season and is a critical race in building the Cheltenham Festival. It has been won by some of the true greats of National Hunt Racing, including Kauto Star, Master Minded, Moscow Flyer and Sprinter Sacre at Sandown Park.

The Tolworth Hurdle is another pivotal Cheltenham Festival trial and see’s the best novice hurdlers battle it out around the historic Sandown Park.

The jumps season reaches its conclusion at Sandown Park with the great Bet365 Jump Finale Day. This spectacular day of horse racing action features some superb action, including the Bet365 Gold Cup and the Celebration Chase.

The meeting also features the popular Parade of Champions, which gives spectators the chance to see the seasons biggest horse racing champions.

The race first took place in 1886 and has featured legends of flat horse racing, including Dancing Brave, Mill Reef and Sea the Stars. While Lester Piggott holds the record for several wins by a single jockey with seven, a staggering number has given the quality of the field that regularly competes in the race.

In 2015 Golden Horn sealed his place in the sport’s history as he won the mile-and-a-quarter contest making him the first horse to ever win the Dante Stakes, The Epsom Derby and Eclipse Stakes in the same season.
Sandown Park is steeped in horse racing history, with many of the battles that have taken place between great horses and jockeys still talked about to this day.
