Luke Littler Makes Premier League History With Record Fifth Night Win in Aberdeen

Luke Littler made Premier League Darts history in Aberdeen as he became the first player ever to win five nightly events in a single campaign, edging Luke Humphries 6-5 in a thrilling Night 13 final to put himself at the top of the table.
The world champion produced another statement performance, coming from 5-3 down to deny Humphries in a last-leg decider in what is now a record-breaking season for the teenager.
The final was tight from the outset, with little separating the two Lukes in the early exchanges. Humphries produced a moment of quality with a 130 checkout on the bullseye to level at 2-2, while Littler also had his chances, narrowly missing the bull for a 130 finish of his own.
Humphries, appearing in just his second Premier League final of the season, edged ahead after breaking throw on double 18 and looked in control when he stretched out to a 5-3 lead. But Littler responded in trademark fashion, digging in to break back and force a deciding leg.
With Humphries faltering at a crucial moment, Littler stepped up to seal victory on double 10, completing another comeback that underlined his growing authority in the competition.
The win not only secured a fifth nightly triumph of the campaign, a first in Premier League history, but also moved Littler two points clear of Clayton at the top of the table, with the Welshman already confirmed in the play-offs after results elsewhere.
Humphries, meanwhile, closed the gap to the top four to just two points, keeping the race for the remaining play-off places finely poised with two nights left in the regular season.
Speaking afterwards, Littler said he was pleased with his performance levels on the night.
“I was comfortable tonight. Practice has been going well and I’m glad to bring it to the stage,” he said. “Luke played very well there, and if he continues to play like that, he will have a chance of getting into the play-offs.”
He also commented on the atmosphere in Aberdeen, suggesting a stronger home presence from a Scottish player in future editions of the Premier League could lift the crowd further.
Earlier in the evening, Littler had booked his place in the final with a dominant 6-1 semi-final win over Gerwyn Price, landing four maximums in a commanding display.
There were also notable performances elsewhere, with Gian van Veen producing a 152 checkout in his 6-2 win over Clayton in the quarter-finals, while Price recovered from 5-3 down to edge Stephen Bunting in a deciding-leg thriller. Josh Rock, meanwhile, remains bottom of the table after a 6-3 defeat to Littler.
With the play-off race heating up and Littler setting a new benchmark for nightly wins in a single season, the Premier League is set for a dramatic conclusion over the final two weeks.
