One of the biggest weeks in European golf is almost here, with the BMW PGA Championship returning to Wentworth Club from Thursday 17th to Sunday 20th September 2026.

The famous West Course will once again welcome some of the leading names in world golf for four days of DP World Tour action, with Major champions, Ryder Cup stars and former BMW PGA Championship winners all confirmed for a strong 2026 field.

Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm and Tommy Fleetwood Head to Wentworth

Rory McIlroy will be among the headline names returning to Surrey, with the 2014 BMW PGA Champion looking to add another Wentworth title to his career.

He will be joined by two-time Major Champion Jon Rahm and English favourite Tommy Fleetwood as part of a field packed with established European stars.

Defending champion Alex Noren will also return after claiming his second BMW PGA Championship crown in dramatic fashion in 2025. The Swede finished level with Adrien Saddier after the final round before making birdie on the first play-off hole to secure another victory on the West Course, eight years after his first triumph at Wentworth.

Justin Rose, Matt Fitzpatrick and Shane Lowry add further Major Championship pedigree, while Tyrrell Hatton, Viktor Hovland, Robert MacIntyre and Ludvig Åberg are also confirmed to compete.

Two-time BMW PGA Champion Billy Horschel will be back at Wentworth, while Ryan Fox, Sepp Straka, Aaron Rai and Marco Penge further strengthen the field. Former World Number One and two-time Wentworth winner Luke Donald is another established name set to take part.

With McIlroy, Rahm, Fleetwood and many of Europe’s leading players competing on the same course, spectators will have the opportunity to follow some of the game’s most recognisable names throughout the week.

More Than Just Four Rounds of Golf

Part of the BMW PGA Championship’s appeal is the atmosphere that surrounds the action at Wentworth.

Tournament week begins before the first competitive ball is struck, with players preparing on the West Course before the championship gets underway on Thursday 17th September.

The opening two rounds take place on Thursday and Friday before the field is cut for the weekend.
