Premier League Darts Night 16 Preview

Ahead of the final night of the Premier League Darts league stage, we look into each fixture and who may reign supreme in Sheffield.
Jonny Clayton vs Stephen Bunting
The penultimate night of this year’s Premier League Darts starts with Welshman Jonny Clayton taking on fan favourite Stephen Bunting.
Clayton has put together a really good run to finish off his campaign this year to bring him into contention. His excellent finishing has put him in good standing and allowed him to steal legs in tight games.
Bunting has enjoyed a slightly less successful season, with the Liverpudlian out of contention to qualify for Finals night. In a race to six legs, Bunting has performed well over his career but has struggled to gain any rhythm in this year’s competition.
Both will head into the game with the pressure off as both players already know their fate heading into the final week.
Gerwyn Price vs Gian van Veen
Next up, already qualified, Gerwyn Price faces 2026 World Championship finalist Gian Van Veen with the Welshman looking to secure third place in the league standings.
The Welshman has been one of the more consistent players across the 16 weeks, regularly hitting ton averages and advancing to the semi-finals and final.
Despite failing to qualify, Van Veen has been a revelation in his Premier League debut, winning eleven matches and picking up 18 points, just six points from qualifying for the playoffs and level on points with compatriot Michael Van Gerwen.
A major concern for many Van Veen supporters is his struggles in big moments. Many thought he had a huge chance of beating Luke Littler earlier this year in the World Championship Final but found himself on the end of a 7-1 drumming from Littler.
Luke Littler v Josh Rock
The third quarter‑final pits league leader Luke Littler against Josh Rock. Littler is once again expected to progress into the latter rounds and challenge for another nightly win.
Littler has dominated this year’s Premier League, collecting six nightly titles and registering a plethora of ton‑plus averages.
Rock, from Northern Ireland, has had a difficult introduction to the competition and has only shown his quality in brief glimpses.
He is known for his explosive scoring and can trouble anyone when he’s on it, but he’s struggled to make the adjustments to suit a shorter format.
Luke Humphries v Michael van Gerwen
In the final quarter-final of the 2026 Premier League Darts, two former world champions face off with Luke Humphries taking on Michael van Gerwen.
Humphries has been incredibly consistent throughout the campaign, often topping the nightly averages and rarely dropping below a high‑90s level even on off nights.
Van Gerwen has struggled to maintain consistent performances this year and has also suffered injuries. Despite this, he remains one of the few players capable of outscoring Humphries when everything comes together.
