The Premier League stars who shone at the World Cup and where to watch them

The World Cup always produces new heroes, surprise performers and unforgettable moments, and this year was no different.

With players from across the Premier League representing their countries on football’s biggest stage, supporters got the chance to see some familiar faces deliver on the international scene, while others announced themselves to a global audience.

Tottenham also had two representatives on the Argentina side, with Cristian Romero and Marcos Senesi both playing their part as La Albiceleste reached the final before falling short against Spain.

Elsewhere, Kai Havertz, Leandro Trossard, Martin Ødegaard, Viktor Gyökeres, Gabriel Martinelli, Eberechi Eze, Noni Madueke and Piero Hincapié all represented their countries during the tournament.

Alexander Isak was another player to catch the eye, contributing three assists and scoring once as Sweden progressed through to the knockout stages.

Alongside those established names, Nico O’Reilly enjoyed a breakthrough tournament, taking his opportunity on the international stage and giving supporters a glimpse of what could come from one of City’s promising young players.
