Jags October 2024

New England Patriots 16 – 32 Jacksonville Jaguars Review

The Jags secured victory against the Patriots in an intense and enthralling match at Wembley Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The third and final NFL Regular Season match to take place in London was played at the iconic and historic Wembley Stadium on Sunday afternoon, with the Jacksonville Jaguars and the New England Patriots going toe to toe under that famous arch in the heart of the English Capital.

A crowd of 86,651 were in attendance from across the world for what was a crucial game. This was the highest attendance ever recorded at an NFL Game hosted at Wembley Stadium.

Both sides had got off to slow starts in their respective 2024/25 seasons. Both the Patriots and the Jags were looking for only their second wins of the current campaign respectively in London on the day.

Starting with the Patriots, their first victory of their latest NFL campaign came against the Cincinnati Bengals who they were able to defeat 10 – 16 at the Paul Brown Stadium. As for the Jags, their sole win ahead of this game had come at the start of October, when they were 37 – 34 winners against the Indianapolis Colts at the EverBank Stadium on 6th October.

In the end, this game saw the Jacksonville Jaguars secure a vital and dominant 16 – 32 victory against the New England Patriots at Wembley in London. As a result, this means that the Patriots have remained in 4thplace in the American Football Conference East, whilst the Jags are now sitting 3rd in the American Football Conference South.

Match Review:

To begin the contest, it was a tight and competitive game. The first touchdown of the day was scored by New England Patriots Running Back JaMycal Hasty, who made it 7 – 0 for his team, which is how the score remained by the end of the first quarter.

History was made during the first quarter of the game, with Jacksonville Jaguars Quarterback Trevor Lawrence becoming the all-time passing leader for NFL Games in London with no less than 1,401 yards in the six matches that he has played in the English Capital so far in his career in the NFL.

After sealing a 10 – 0 lead, Jags Wide Receiver Brian Thomas Jr scored his team’s opening touchdown of the day to make it 10 – 7. The Jacksonville Jaguars then took the lead when Running Back Tank Bigsby was able to convert to score an excellent try to hand his side the advantage.

During the second quarter, Jags Wide Receiver Parker Washington scored the longest ever Touchdown in the history of the NFL International Games to extend his side’s advantage. By the halftime break, the game had completely turned on its head with the Jags now leading 10 – 22 at Wembley, and they were now on the path to a crucial victory.

It was an enthralling contest, but by the end of the third quarter, the Jags were pulling away from their opposition with their lead now standing at 10 – 25 going into the final 15 minutes in the fourth and final quarter of this contest at Wembley Stadium.

Matters were made interesting when KJ Osborn got the Patriots back into the game with a touchdown to make it 16 – 25, but it was the Jags who remained in the lead in this game in the heart of London.

Victory for the Jacksonville Jaguars was sealed late on in the fourth quarter through Tank Bigsby, whose touchdown made it 16 – 32 to his team, which is how the scoreline stayed by the end of the game.
