Scotland, led by Head Coach Gregor Townsend, is set to host Australia in their fourth and final fixture of the 2024 Autumn Internationals at Murrayfield in Edinburgh. The game between these two nations is set to get underway at 13:40 on the afternoon of Sunday, 24^th November.

Having spent almost a decade in charge of the Scottish national team, Townsend has enjoyed plenty of success against a number of nations, particularly England – whom his teams have beaten four times in a row to keep the bragging rights and the coveted Calcutta Cup firmly in their possession.

Townsend’s Scotland also made history in the 2018 Guinness Six Nations when they became the first Scottish side in ten years to beat England in a competitive fixture back in 2008.

Moving on to Australia, the most recent international fixture between the Wallabies and Scotland came in the 2022 Autumn Internationals at Murrayfield on 29^th October 2022. It was a very tight 15 – 16 win for Australia that day.

However, Scotland had won this fixture the year before in the 2021 Autumn Internationals, where they were 15 -13 winners. This completed a chain of three consecutive wins against their Southern Hemisphere rivals, beating them 24 – 19 in Sydney in June 2017 in the Summer Internationals before emerging victorious again, this time with a margin of 53 – 24 in Edinburgh in November 2017.

Overall, Scotland and Australia have met competitively 34 times to date, and, as of the time of writing, the Wallabies have more wins with 22 compared to 12 for Gregor Townsend’s Scotland.
