Two successful years then followed in the South of England, with Brighton qualifying for the UEFA Europa League for the first time in their history.

De Zerbi had his side competing against the elite across the Premier League and Europe, which earned him a move to Marseille. His spell at Marseille sparked more success for the 46-year-old. After 69 matches in the dugout De Zerbi departed with a PPG record of 1.81, his second highest in European football.

Then, in March, De Zerbi put pen to paper on a five-year deal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to guide Spurs back to the UEFA Champions League and compete at the summit of the Premier League.
