The Magpies then managed to secure 4th place with 71 points, securing them a place in the highly coveted UEFA Champions League for the following season.

They beat PSG 4 – 1 at St. James’s Park, but they ultimately got knocked out in the Group Stages of the Champions League last term. They ended up in 7th place, but they did not secure qualification for the UEFA Europa Conference League after Manchester United’s FA Cup win.
