West Ham United, who are currently led by their English Head Coach Graham Potter, are set to take on Keith Andrews’ Brentford side when the Hammers welcome the Bees to the iconic London Stadium in the heart of East London. This game will be taking place during the 2025/26 Premier League season.
If the Hammers can secure all three crucial points with a victory against Brentford, then not only will they gain some local bragging rights, but they will also take a step closer to realising their ambitions for this current campaign. They are looking to end up with a top half finish, although they could well push for European Qualification instead.
Graham Potter is the incumbent Head Coach of West Ham United Football Club, a post he has held since his appointment was confirmed on Thursday, 9th January 2025, following the official replacement of his Spanish predecessor, Julen Lopetegui, at the club. Potter joined as an experienced manager in the Premier League, having previously worked with clubs such as Brighton and Chelsea.
Potter’s first few months in charge came towards the end of the 2024/25 season, and during that time he was able to ensure that his side would stave off the threat of relegation, before then going on to lead them up the table to what was a respectable 14th place finish. This came after the club had accumulated a grand total of 43 points overall from all 38 of their games. The 2025/26 campaign will be his first full season in charge.
The Hammers did indeed manage to end their latest top flight campaign on a high, with them beating Kieran McKenna and his Ipswich Town side comfortably 3 – 1 away from home at Portman Road. This was on the final day of 2024/25, and the goal scorers on that day for West Ham were James Ward-Prowse (43’), Jarrod Bowen (55’), and Mohammed Kudus (87’), meanwhile Ipswich were able to score their only goal of the game through their forward Nathan Broadhead early on in the second half (52’).
Moving on to Brentford, their Irish Head Coach Keith Andrews has been in charge ever since his appointment was confirmed back on Friday 27th June 2025 when he was promoted from his role as set-piece coach following the departure of his predecessor, Thomas Frank, to fellow London Club Tottenham Hotspur.
Last season (2024/25) was spent under the stewardship of Frank, who led them in what was an excellent campaign for the Bees, who were among the clubs battling for European Football for much of the season. However, in the end, they missed out on a place in the top seven after they had to settle for what was a 10th place finish with a grand total of 56 points to their name. They were 9 points adrift of European Qualification in the end.
Overall, West Ham United and Brentford have met competitively in all competitions on at least 57 occasions, and it is the Hammers who currently hold the superior record in this fixture, with 24 wins compared to the Bees’ 21 so far. There have also been 12 draws between these two clubs to date, as of the time of writing.
