Marco Silva is set to lead Fulham once more this term, and his Cottagers side are set to go toe to toe with a Wolves side who are led by another Portuguese Head Coach in the form of Vitor Pereira. The two clubs are set to play each other at the iconic and historic Craven Cottage throughout the 2025/26 Premier League season. Victory here would help them take a step closer to securing European qualification for the following campaign.
Fulham and their fans will most certainly have an eye on a finish in the top seven of the league this season, with the ambition of the club to return to playing football on the European stage, which is something that they haven’t done since the 2011/12 season which was when they were competing in the UEFA Europa League.
That season’s competition saw the Cottagers have to contend with a number of qualifying rounds in order to get through to the group stage, which saw them qualify for this stage of the competition following victories against the likes of NSI Runavik (Faroe Islands, 3 – 0 agg.), Crusaders (Northern Ireland, 7 – 1 agg.), RNK Split (Croatia, 2 – 0 agg.), and Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk (Ukraine, 3 – 1 agg).
However, the group stage is where Fulham got knocked out of the Europa League in the 2011/12 campaign, with them finishing in 3rd place following some wins against the likes of Denmark’s Odense 2 – 0 away from home, and then back in West London against Poland’s Wisla Krakow at Craven Cottage, beating them 2 – 0 and 4 – 1 respectively. Fulham desires another opportunity in Europe, for next season.
Marco Silva’s very first full season in charge was in the 2021/22 EFL Championship when he succeeded Scott Parker. Silva led his side to the second tier title after successfully earning no less than 90 points from their 46 matches overall. They finished just two points ahead of Bournemouth in second place.
Then in the present day, the 2024/25 season saw Marco Silva’s Fulham amongst the many clubs who were vying for highly coveted European football for a good portion of the campaign, only to eventually go on to miss out on a top seven finish entirely after finishing in 11th place instead with a grand total of 43 points, 11 adrift of the European places in the end overall.
Moving on to Wolves, they have been under the stewardship of their Portuguese Head Coach Vitor Pereira, who they appointed to permanently succeed Gary O’Neil at Molineux back on 19th December 2024 with the club sitting in 19th place and in real danger of relegation.
Instead, they ended up surviving relegation comfortably under Pereira, going on to avoid the drop by a margin of no less than 17 points between them and the bottom three, ultimately finishing in 16th place with 42 points earned from their 38 games in the English top flight.
The last time that these two clubs met competitively in all competitions was in the Premier League back on 25th February 2025 at Molineux. It was to be a 2 – 1 victory for Fulham against Wolves in the West Midlands thanks to goals from the likes of Ryan Sessegnon (1’) and Rodrigo Muniz (47’), whilst it was Joao Gomes who scored for the home side that day (18’).
Overall, Fulham and Wolves have gone head to head competitively in all competitions on a grand total of 100 occasions, and it is the Old Gold who has the superior record of 47 victories compared with the Cottagers’ 28 to their name so far, as of the time of writing. There have also been 25 draws between these two clubs to date.
