Three Major Champions Added to Star-Studded Genesis Scottish Open Field
The Genesis Scottish Open has been boosted by the inclusion of three major champions ready to tee it up this July at The Renaissance Club.
Aaron Rai, who recently stunned the world by winning the US PGA Championship, will make his return to the Scottish National Open alongside US Open Champion JJ Spaun and five-time Major champion Brooks Koepka.
It’s only been three weeks since the 2020 Genesis Scottish Open winner Rai captured his first major sensationally. The Wolverhampton-born golfer made a 68-foot putt to birdie the 17th on his way to victory in the final round. Rai became the first Englishman in over a century to win the US PGA Championship.
Rai’s return to East Lothian comes six years after he lifted the Genesis Scottish Open trophy. That victory proved to be a major stepping stone in his career, and he now returns as a major champion after completing one of the most memorable triumphs of the season.
The trio of Major winners joins an already world-class field which included World Number One Scottie Scheffler, defending champion Chris Gotteerup, six-time major and two-time Masters champion Rory McIlroy, alongside Ryder Cup stars Viktor Hovland, Robert MacIntyre, Justin Thomas and Xandar Schauffele.
With MacIntyre chasing more history on home soil and a talented field set to challenge once again, the Genesis Scottish Open continues to stand out as one of the most significant events of the golfing calendar.
The Genesis Scottish Open has established itself as one of the most important events outside of the four majors. Played the week before The Open Championship, the tournament offers players a valuable opportunity to fine-tune their games in links conditions while competing against one of the strongest fields of the season.
For those looking to experience the action in premium surroundings, Eventmasters are offering official hospitality packages for the 2026 tournament. The Green on 18 package provides a prime vantage point overlooking the iconic finishing hole at The Renaissance Club, with access to a private greenside terrace.
