Where are the 2027 Ashes being played?
England’s bid to reclaim the men’s Ashes will begin at Trent Bridge in June 2027, with Australia set to arrive for a five-Test series across some of the country’s most historic cricket grounds.
The opening Test will get underway on 18th June, before the action moves to Lord’s for the second match of the series from 30th June. Edgbaston will then host the third Test from 8th July, with the Utilita Bowl in Southampton preparing to stage its first-ever men’s Ashes Test when the fourth match begins on 21st July.
The series will conclude at the Kia Oval, with the fifth and final Test scheduled to start on 29th July.
Southampton’s inclusion means the Utilita Bowl will become the 10th venue in the UK to host a men’s Ashes Test, adding another ground to the prestigious list of venues to have staged cricket’s oldest international rivalry.
However, there will be no Ashes Test in the north of England after both Emirates Old Trafford and Headingley missed out on hosting matches in the latest allocation.
England will be looking to bounce back after suffering a 4-1 defeat in Australia during the 2025/26 Ashes series. The team will enter the 2007 contest under a new Test head coach after Brendon McCullum’s departure.
Before facing Australia, England will prepare for the Ashes with a one-off Test against Bangladesh at Lord’s, beginning on 28th May.
Australia are also set to play a warm-up fixture ahead of the series, taking on the England Lions at Old Trafford from 7th – 10th June as part of a new agreement between the two nations to arrange “high-quality opposition at an international venue”.
The 2027 men’s Ashes will form part of a busy summer for England, who will begin the year with a five-match ODI series against Pakistan in May before finishing with three T20 international and five ODIs against New Zealand in September.
The New Zealand series will serve as preparation for the 50-over World Cup, which begins in October.

England will hope home advantage can help them regain the urn after Australia retained the Ashes in dominant fashion on their own turf, while supporters prepare for another summer of one of cricket’s greatest rivalries.
