Chelsea vs Port Vale
FA Cup Quarter Final
Fixture Date – Saturday 4th April 2026
Kick-off – 3pm
Stamford Bridge, London
Premier League heavyweights Chelsea, led by their Head Coach Liam Rosenior, are going to go toe to toe with the surprise package of the 2025/26 FA Cup in the form of Jon Brady’s Port Vale of League One. This tie will be taking place in the Quarter Finals of this season’s competition at Stamford Bridge in April 2026. The Blues will be looking to progress to the semi-finals with a victory over the relegation-threatened Valiants.
This season, Rosenior and his Chelsea side are looking to win this illustrious, historic trophy for the 9th time in their history. It would be the first time they have done so since lifting the FA Cup in the 2017/18 season, when they beat fellow Premier League side Manchester United 1–0 in the Final at Wembley.
There is no better way to see Chelsea in action against League One’s Port Vale in what promises to be an enthralling Quarter Final tie in the 2025/26 FA Cup than with an Eventmasters VIP Hospitality Package.

Liam Rosenior’s Chelsea are set to come face to face with a relegation-threatened Port Vale side of League One, who are currently led by their Head Coach Jon Brady, in the much-anticipated Quarter Finals of the 2025/26 FA Cup in April 2026.
The Blues will be hoping to emerge victorious at Stamford Bridge as they look to progress into the semi-finals of this competition – a step closer to the Final at Wembley in May.
As of the time of writing, Chelsea have so far won the FA Cup a grand total of 8 times – only Manchester United (13) and Arsenal (14) have won it more to date. Their most recent win in an FA Cup Final came back in the 2017/18 season when a goal from the penalty spot from club legend Eden Hazard secured a 1 – 0 victory over Manchester United at Wembley in the first half of the game (22’).
The West London club’s 7 other FA Cup Final victories came back in 1969/70 (2 – 1 vs. Leeds United, Replay), 1996/97 (2 – 0 vs. Middlesbrough), 1999/00 (1 – 0 vs. Aston Villa), 2006/07 (1 – 0 AET vs. Manchester United), 2008/09 (2 – 1 vs. Everton), 2009/10 (1 – 0 vs. Portsmouth), and in 2011/12 (2 – 1 vs. Liverpool).
Premier League giants Chelsea, led by their aforementioned Head Coach Liam Rosenior, began this season’s FA Cup Competition with a Third Round tie against fellow London side Charlton Athletic of the Championship. They were able to beat the Addicks in style, winning 5 – 1 thanks to goals from the likes of Jorrel Hato (45+4’), Tosin Adarabioyo (50’), Marc Guiu (62’), Pedro Neto (90+1’), and Enzo Fernandez (90+4’ – Penalty). Forward Miles Leaburn was the scorer of the only goal for the home side in the end early in the second half (57’).
Then, in the next round, they came against another Championship side in the form of promotion-chasing Hull City away from home at the MKM Stadium, winning 4 – 0. The goals from a ruthless Chelsea side came from the likes of Pedro Neto (40’, 51’, 71’) and Estevao (59’), with the former scoring a hat-trick.
Round Five saw Chelsea, led by Rosenior, travel to Wales to face Phil Parkinson’s Wrexham at the Racecourse Ground. It was to be a 4 – 2 triumph at extra time for the Blues against their Championship opponents.
The West London visitors scored through the likes of Josh Acheampong (82’), Alejandro Garnacho (96’), and Joao Pedro (120+5’) after an own goal by Wrexham Goalkeeper and former Arsenal player Arthur Okonkwo restored parity for the Blues in the latter stages of the first half. Sam Smith (18’) and Callum Doyle (78’) both scored for the Red Dragons on that day.
Moving on to the Valiants, Jon Brady’s Port Vale have never lifted the FA Cup in their entire history to date. The furthest the League One side has ever progressed in this illustrious cup competition is the semi-finals, a stage they last reached in the 1953/54 season, when they were knocked out by West Bromwich Albion, who beat them 2–1.
As a League One club, Port Vale began their current FA Cup campaign for the 2025/26 season in the First Round Proper, when they came up against non-league side Maldon & Tiptree, who currently play in the Isthmian League North Division, at Vale Park.
In the end, it was to be an emphatic 5 – 1 victory for the Valiants, following goals from the likes of Ruari Paton (15’, 18’), George Hall (16’), and Devante Cole (23’, 56’). Visitors Maldon & Tiptree scored their only goal of the game from forward Anisius Eros Edward Lewis, who initially gave the underdogs the lead within the first ten minutes of the game (6’).
Round Two saw Brady’s Port Vale come up against fellow League One outfit Bristol Rovers, also at Vale Park. This time, it was to be a tight and tense 1- 0 victory for Vale thanks to a winning goal from Ben Waine (47’).
Then came the third round of the 2025/26 FA Cup. This time they were facing a League Two side in the form of Fleetwood Town, also at Vale Park, where they again won 1 – 0, this time thanks to what was a winning goal from midfielder Jordan Shipley in first-half stoppage time (45+2’).
This victory rewarded Jon Brady and his Port Vale side with a tie against Championship outfit Bristol City in the Fourth Round. They were able to beat their second-tier opponents with what was another tight and tense 1 – 0 victory, thanks to a goal from Ben Waine in extra time (112’).
Port Vale got a high-profile tie against Premier League club Sunderland in the most recent round of the FA Cup in Round Five. It was to be a massive ‘cupset’, as Vale were able to go on and win 1 – 0 again, with Newcastle United fan Ben Waine scoring the winning goal against the Black Cats in the first half of the game (28’).
This will be the first time that Chelsea and Port Vale have ever met in the FA Cup. Actually, the last time that Chelsea played the Valiants in a competitive fixture was all the way back in the 1928/29 season in what was an entertaining and enthralling 3 – 3 draw at Stamford Bridge, and losing 1 – 0 at Vale’s old Recreation Ground in the old Division Two.
All eyes will be on who will be victorious in this quarter-final tie in the 2025/26 FA Cup at the aforementioned Stamford Bridge, with the Blues looking to win some silverware this season.
